It does have dubstep elements to it! It's also very progressive might i add! Sort of like a japanese video game theme! hahaha. At times though, it does get slightly faster which develops into a more drum n bass beat.

If you're into that contrast, try "drumstep" - which (quite obviously), is a combination of both dubstep and drum and bass.

The 2 genres are very hand in hand, and can often be combined into heavy, slow, or hyper.

Mt eden makes some great music. They're from new zealand apparently!

Nice music!

That is down and absolutely dirty dirty. I am surprised i haven't seen people trashing dub in the thread yet. Some just do not get electronic music no matter what. i will say this though. Just as with most techno genres that people never got. Are now being used more often in mainstream music, crossing genres. Some of it is the same Sine and Saw waves i was using back in the mid 90's to make music. Thanks for turning me on to something different.

I will leave you with this LOL

I really think some of Datsik's earlier stuff is the bees knees, he masters deep dark drops and he has some really good stuff, along with his other stuff too. I don't like it when dubstep gets overcomplicated and doesn't flow, it happens all too often and puts a bad name on it. heres a couple examples of datsik:

Another great artist i found not too long ago, is Mimosa. They are brilliant and I can't seem to find them anywhere other than youtube, any help would be much appreciated. They have some of the best drops i have ever heard.

And i don't want to flood the thread, but heres one of my all time Favs if you haven't heard this already: www.youtube.com...

Skrilex isn't dubstep... he's some vile metal-dubstep cross over.

It's all about the tension, the space, and should sound like King Tubby locked into a Croyden council estate flat with Derrick May.

Used to love it back in 2005/6 and FWD (the club that created dubstep) was wicked back then... half the people clutching dubplates to give to the deejays... people like Wileykat stepping up to spit bars over it etc...

these are some of my favourite dubstep tracks

if you do a search for Hatcha's practice hours mix from 2005, give it a listen for one of the best early dubstep mixes done by the person who ran the Big Apple record shop where Skream Benga etc would hang out (he also nurchured them in their early deejaying years)...
