Responsibility is a two way street. A child should be cared for financially, mentally and physically by BOTH parents.
There are things, such as female contraceptives.Feminists are asking for it,free of charge on taxpayers dime.

I... for one... am grateful for the occassional one-way street. Some people just don't legally qualify as parent material.

Star for ya.

Yes,you are right though. Regardless,if a child wants "both" parents in their life, its up to the parents to accommodate the situation.

It doesn't matter what abortion laws are.

Au contraire, the abortion laws are fundamentally imperative to the issue at hand; or, rather, the legal definition of a ''child'' is.

Yes, it may, eventually, result in a child. But, considering the fact that one party has 100% control over whether it will create a child, then I see no logical or ethical reason as to why the other party should be in any way responsible for a decision which they didn't make.

Both parties need to be aware of this, and if they aren't, we have bigger problems in society than I thought. It has nothing to do with when conception starts.

It has everything to do with when conception starts.

Why should I pay for something which, by all generally accepted legal definitions, I can't physically create, let alone be responsible for its creation ?

Seriously, people should say to themselves before they get down 'n dirty "A child might result from this. Do I still want to have sex if I know that might be a consequence?"

Let me correct you on that one: ''Seriously, people should say to themselves before they get down 'n dirty "A zygote might result from this. Do I still want to have sex if I know that might be a consequence?"

Er, who cares ? It's a zygote. A small consequence which the morning-after pill can easily cure. You make it sound like that some 8lb bouncing baby instantly materialises after a man and woman have sex.

Or are you suggesting that a woman's capricious whim should be the responsibility of the man involved ?!

You do have a point, though, if a women decides to get an abortion against the will of the future-father, it IS a unilateral decision. But neither is it right to force a women to have a child she doesn't want to carry. It's a slippery slope. Men and women suffer different consequences for sex.

I'm not suggesting that the father should have a say in the abortion decision. That would be ridiculous.

Can you imagine if one of them wanted to keep the baby, and the other one didn't ?!

You'd have to toss a coin.

If you don't pay for your child, somebody else will have to, most likely the taxpayers.

That someone should be the mother, who created the child.

Financial considerations are surely prominently factored into the equation before she decides whether to keep the baby, or not.

Why should I be responsible for your progeny?

You're not. The mother of them, is.

This is funny how the left operates:

For women in regards to reproduction:
Female Condoms
Birth Control
Abortion on demand
Baby Drop offs
No going to jail for back child support

For Men in regards to reproduction
Male Condom(hope she doesn't turkey baste)
Keep your legs closed(hope you don't pass out at a party and be raped in your sleep)
Sterilization
And if the guy loses his job, a prison labor job for pennies on the dollar, is provided courtesy of your local family court judge

The technology exists for male birth control pills or implants. The only reason it is being shot down is because women don't want men to have control over our own reproductive capabilities. Same song and dance every 5 years. First it is "finally they can take it", then it moves onto "we can't trust them to remember", lastly the truth is revealed in " they will never stop taking it, and we won't be able to get pregnant".

If a woman can't afford to raise a child she birthed maybe she should be sterilized?

I bet everyone reading doesn't like that statement I just made.

But yet your statement is totally OK in this manhating society.
-------
I am beginning to see it for what it is.

Traditionalism/Feminist Sharia for men
Communism/Socialism for women on the backs of male slave labor.

Thanks and I know. I am now married to a wonderful woman. Anyhow as for the baby momma goes, I give some credit to immaturity, she was younger than I and I think that at the time she was living on her own for the first time of her life. I am different. I have lived on my own since the age of seventeen. I have travelled the country with nothing less then a backpack a few times, also I have worked and supported myself and a home most of the time though I will admit I stayed with my folks a couple of times for a few months. Other than that I have learned to not rely on them too much. For her I think she was coming to grips with reality. I would have to say that she has matured since then. But due to my experience with her, I do not find her any more favorable then before.I have made some poor decisions in my lifetime but many of those decisions came before parenthood and I payed the consequences literally and never looked back.

I'm surprised nobody has stated the obvious. Children are used as leverage... by the State as well as by their families.

"I've got kids... I should have priority." "You have children... you must follow these rules/laws."

That's part of the reason some of these people are incessant breeders... TO GAIN PRIORITY. They use their kids as GD bargaining chips. While in the same context... the gov't uses those same kids to control/manipulate household behaviors and lifestyles.

Yes actually the term "bargaining chip" was a common term used within my half of the family for a long time. And yes she used the child and system to gain leverage.

Thanks but I would not want to deny myself of a god given duty and right.

If the GOV does't like that they can kiss my ass.

Communism, Socialism and Feminism are all connected at the hip and so is the issue of Gay marriage. It is a beast with many heads.
