Canada's Other Justin: The Puerile One

OK.

So now Justin's going to run for the leadership of the Liberal Party. He's an underdog as far as I am concerned, not for the leadership but in any contest against Harper. Whatever one might think of Harper as a personality (bland) or as an independant thinker in international affairs (Howdy Doody), he is still the veteran of some intense political battles out West and has made decisions on principle and stood on principle where it cost him.

He also has a master's degree in economics.

But as one wag put it, "If politics is going to be run like American idol, pick a guy who can win American Idol."

I suppose that's true. There are always the guys in the back room with the pot bellies and warts on their noses who are the experts in international trade relations and geo-strategic thinking, not forgetting psychoanalysis for all things American.

It should be fun to watch them trying to steamroller him anyway.
