I've been lurking around a bit, and I'm not ashamed to say I've been pretty addicted to ATS. It had me at hello

If anyone out there cares to know, here is a bit about me. I am a native Texan. My political views consist of having small government, being fiscally conservative and socially liberal, and not trusting a dang thing I hear. I am married, put myself through college, and have a degree in biology. I have very strong opinions about big pharma and the corruption that runs rampant right in front of our eyes.

I believe in God. I have not read the Bible through and through and disagree with much that organized religion promotes, but nevertheless, I am connected to something bigger than myself, call it what you will. I recognize the fact that the Bible has crazy stuff and so does the Koran and every other holy book. All holy books also have much good, but I believe them all incomplete. At one time maybe they were, but much has proven to be omitted or simply lost in translation. Our path to enlightenment or to God just simply cannot be laid out in full and given to us. That doesn't leave much room for exploration. I am getting more into meditation and learning more about chakras and kundalini yoga too.

Besides interest piquing conspiracy theories, I hold an interest in holistic medicine, chemtrails and their affect on health and weather, metaphysics, and like many ATSers, when SHTF possibly sometime soon. I'm currently putting together a BOB. My family owns a ranch and raises horses, cattle, and chickens, but unfortunately it is about 160 miles away from where I live. I'm thinking that my BOB, assault rifle, two hand guns, and a hunting rifle just might come in handy one day. And if not, great.

Anyway, since I'm new, please feel free to share topics I could make a useful contribution to and show me around. And thanks to all the ATSers out there posting great threads, and thanks to the people bashing those threads. Without the opposing side, all topics would be moot. It gets me thinking!

Welcome fictitious...

It had me at hello

Yes, ATS and Tom Cruise both had us at "Hello"...though, I would have preferred a greeting from someone NOT affiliated with Scientology.

AboveTopSecret is much like a theme park with many, many rides, so with that said...

Here's a few thoughts before getting onto any one of the 1000's of topical rides at Above Top Secret (ATS), the world's largest Civil & Unique Discussion Community.

* Please check out those links posted above before getting on one of the rides. This will save you a lot of future stress, frustration and possible action by one of your friendly neighborhood Mods!

* Please be sure to act like an 'civil' adult and are at least this tall to get on any of the rides, (Johnny stretches his arm outward).

* Please remember that some members are very passionate and vocal depending on what ride your all on. You should be mentally fit, stable and have a strong stomach for theories, conjecture, research and evidence presented that may be contrary to your own.

* Please be "open-minded" enough to understand that sometimes the ride isn't always what you might expect. Be aware you also might end up learning something new and 'out-of-the-box' before you get off the ride.

* Please note that at times the ride gets overly-heated and "it's strongly suggested" to get off the ride to regroup one's thoughts before continuing. This will also help guarantee that the ride will move forward without getting derailed or explode into a fiery trashbin.

* Please have fun! But be aware that if you act in an uncivil-like manner, use profanity, intentially spread a hoax and/or get verbally abusive, you will be removed off the ride by a Moderator. This is not only for your safety, but also for those both young and old on the ride with you.

So buckle up, keep your arms within the ride's comfort zone, have fun and "Deny Ignorance"...!

Johnny
