That could be nice... probably no way it happens...

US eyes deep cuts to nuclear arsenal

President Barack Obama's administration is looking at possible cuts to the US nuclear arsenal that include a drastic option to reduce the number of warheads by up to 80 percent, a US official said Wednesday.

The policy review underway suggests a range of additional cuts that include reducing the arsenal to 1,000 to 1,100, another that proposes dropping to 700 to 800 or shrinking the force dramatically to 300 to 400 warheads, the US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.

"Three hundred (warheads) is the very low end of those options," the official said.

With 300 nukes, you can wipe out everything worth destroying in Russia... but if it were China-Russia vs USA, there wouldn't be enough nukes... but that's why France, Israel and the UK got nukes.

This just makes me think they have something much more powerful up their sleeves.

Well, between the massive troop cuts....some serious trimming to Pentagon budgets for parts of the Navy and Marine Corps and now this, I'd say Obama is doing one FINE job of making sure he leaves an America MUCH weaker than it was when he found it. Mission Accomplished...and I'm going to go be sick now.

I'd LOVE these reductions in concert with the Russians. Without them? This is just outright stupid and naive....and that is taking the most kind tack in defining his motives. Has it ever occurred to him that without OUR nukes, we have NOTHING left to bargain with to get Russia or eventually China to agree in cutting THEIRS?

What does Obozo think we're going to do in the future? Just ask the Russians real nice like if they can please please consider reducing the size of their Nuclear Weapons arsenal? Without our own arsenal to offer cuts in..we have NOTHING else left to stand on for asking that they do make their own cuts.

This is what total inexperience mixed with unbelievable wishful thinking and rosey red sunglasses on the world looks like...and it's scary at this level of power.

For all we know, they'll deplete the nuclear arsenal by dropping them on predetermined sites on the Asian continent. Obama is just blowing smoke with this one.

Actually, they have a bomb that is equal to an atomic bomb but no radioactivity.

This weapon system hasn't been working to good for the US.

As of to day its to fast to be controlled accurately. The weapon system might be put on hold.

The US has never failed to meet a technological goal. They just recently came up with a super fast computer idea based upon new materials. Add the two together and you got a working bomb.

I wont believe it until it has been field tested. My bet is that the US cant afford to go on much longer. And this weapon system will be scraped.

The US is even scraping the F-22. And are looking for new and cheaper ideas to upgrade the F-15 and F-18.
The US is also being forced to prolong the F-16 do to the delay on the F-35.

The F-35 should be scrapped and the F-22 put back into production.

Congress is doing the wrong thing, as always.

Both of the projects are way out of budget, and are way past sustainability. What costs are going to replace the inflation on these projects?

Buyers are already cutting down on their orders of F-35 and looking for other jets. The US government are still trying to cover the costs of the existing F-22 in use. These projects cost to much to maintain, and will probably ruin future upgrades.

The US used about 30 years to produce the F-22. The US used 6 years to produce the SR71. 6 years to produce the F-15 and F-16.

Its not the US government who is to blame, but the manufacturers. They seam to drag out production time to make as much money as they possibly can on the project. The manufactures dont care if the US needs these jets. They only care about milking the cow.

Well the F-22 is ready and if it were to be produced right now at enough numbers and exported to allies, the cost would come down significantly.

Take off that tin-foil hat, there is nothing more powerful in any countries arsenal than a nuclear weapon.
