Clinton in talks about possible move to World Bank

www.reuters.com

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been in discussions with the White House about leaving her job next year to become head of the World Bank, sources familiar with the discussions said on Thursday...

She has said publicly she did not plan to stay on at the State Department for more than four years. Associates say Clinton has expressed interest in having the World Bank job should the bank's current president, Robert Zoellick, leave at the end of his term, in the middle of 2012.

Please note that this article was first published June of 2011. Fast Forward to Today's Headline. "World Bank's Zoellick to step down in June "

Well, it would seem like the cards are lining up in Hillary's favor. Because the current World Bank President just announced that he will be stepping down in June. How convenient. HIllary sure has one hell of an insight to see this coming a year ago. Wow.

Mods, if you have to move this I understand. But the two stories are certainly Breaking and certainly linked.

Let's see how this plays out. Could this be one reason why Hillary has not thrown her name into the mix in an effort to challenge Obama once again? Without question, the Clinton political machine is far more powerful than any contraption run by Obama and company.

"I'm honored to have led such a world class institution with so many talented and exceptional people," Zoellick said in a statement announcing his plans. Earlier, he had met with the World Bank's 25-member board to inform them of his decision.

Speculation has been rife in recent months over who might take the job when Zoellick departs. Possible U.S. candidates include Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former White House economic adviser Larry Summers.

Zoellick, a Republican, would potentially be a strong candidate for a senior position if a Republican takes the White House in presidential elections in November.

That contraption beat Hillary's behind rather soundly last time around, IIRC.

It did. He also raised far more money and had the media working to taint the voter pool. Hillary took a step back on that fight trust me. Our nation was either going to have the first Female POTUS or the first Black POTUS. The media and Hollywood fell in love with Obama. She could have easily laid the death blow to Obama's campaign but didn't.

The jockeying for power and control is quite fascinating at this level. Evidenced by this latest development.

If this actually happens, there will be a place for Bill. There always is. Just ask Obama. Bill has not been shy about how he feels about the job Obama is doing. Remember Bill's book tour last year?

I wonder who would be the next Secretary of State?

I want to see Obama out (I believe both Dems & Repubs are run by the same people) primarily because of the assassination threat if Obama is given a second term.

I believe Hillary was told to back off, TPTB would make it up to her in some other way.

You can't compare the power of the Clinton machine with the "Obama machine." The Clintons have over 30 years of intense experience in politics -- they actually know how things work and how to work it.

The "Obama machine" is a papier-mache fake created by very powerful White men who had/have a use for Obama. The have used Obama's color to divide & distract the country. Obama is a clueless puppet who does what he's told to. He can read speeches written by other people. He's completely expendable and that's what frightens me.

I will breathe easier if I see Obama leave the White House alive & in one piece.

i wonder how her law degree gives her the qualifications to run the world bank????? and then we wonder why the financial system is destroyed.

This should serve as a clear indicator that the "global" governance machinery has no use for "qualifications" outside of the celebrity status of their "candidates."

The real kicker is that this is a practical admission that the World "Bank" is nothing more than another political entity. One with international sovereignty and authority over global financial regulation.

Interesting how "math" is now a matter of 'political experience' (or perhaps 'expedience'.)

The 'leadership' disease that afflicts the human condition truly knows no borders. Can there be any doubt that it is all a 'game' to those elites who perpetuate their 'position' in society by cooperating to keep the status quo tilted in their favor?

Oh how the eyes percieve when the veil of deception falls away............I am getting older now, 66, and in this
mellow olden age, i find i have no use for political theater at all.....the cherade just keeps getting flimsier and more transparent.
The actors get hackneyed lines which when all is said and done are simply emotional cues for the audiences to slaver over....the audiences leave with the impression of some cathersis, but it isnt in goverment, and it isnt good for the people.....
Psychologists for the goverment lay out the plans carefully, and script the rhetoric with presicion, the people have no choice but to eat it up because its all coated with the familiaar apeal to the emotions and not the brains of the public.
Rule by deception and psychological manipulation is in effect................
Those who manage it remain hidden in the deep shadows, amassing the wealth of the world unmolested....

I'm convinced the Global Elite will not allow a non-White power (like China) to rule for long.

They will find a way to undermine it, as they did Japan.

Speculation has been rife over who might take the job when Zoellick departs. Possible U.S. candidates include Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers. The State Department said Clinton would not be taking the job. "She has said this is not happening," spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

I don't believe she will end up in that position,
