The federal debt has increased by $4.47 trillion since President Barack Obama released his first federal budget on Feb. 26, 2009.
That budget was entitled, “A New Era of Responsibility.”
On Feb. 26, 2009, as Obama released his budget for fiscal 2010, the national debt stood at $10.88 trillion (10,881,159,722,022.36). At the close of
business on Feb. 9, 2012, the national debt stood at $15.36 trillion ($15,355,838,921,022.16). That represents an increase in the debt of $4.47
trillion ($4,474,679,198,999.80).
Debt Has Climbed $4.47T Since
Obama Released First Budget—Calling for ‘A New Era of Responsibility’
So, what happened to the "New Era of Responsibility"? It's responsible to be in debt over $15 trillion dollars? Who is to blame here? It happened
under Obama's watch, and now America is poised to put him back into office. When a football team tanks for the season, the coach is always blamed,
right?
Well, I'm going to go off the reservation here. Obama can be blamed for plenty of things that should make him ineligible to continue being our
president. And a few things to make him ineligible to continue being out of prison. We call economic policies "his" policies, "his" being the current
sitting president's policies, whomever that may be. But Obama has a council of economic advisers, that assist him in making decisions. His problem is
that he is listening to them.
But the bulk of the blame should go to our Congress. These people have ruined our economy more than any president could hope to. The bulk of our
spending addiction comes from them, and they perform that function admirably. To be sure, Obama is solely to blame for our military spending, since
with the stroke of a pen he could bring any or all of our soldiers home at any time. The rest of it is spent by Congress, men and women in the pockets
of special interest groups and big corporations.
What happened to the Republicans, a group that for decades was extolled for their "fiscal responsibility"? They've actually been the big spenders in
Congress' Race to Kill America. And Democrats are just as culpable as they keep raising our taxes so the Repubs can spend even more. They are
hand-in-hand in this conspiracy against you and me to put us out on the street. But to what what end? Spend, spend, spend, tax, tax, tax. What is the
result of all of this? What could the government hope to get out of this from us? Dependency on them for everything we need, that's what.
The government is growing at an alarming rate, and every year we become more dependent upon them for our wants and needs. Every call for "free
healthcare, free mortgages, free tuition" is met with derision and scorn by the Republicans and cheers by Democrats. Yet we are poised, for the first
time in American history, to begin Obamacare in 2013. Congress is about to allow
forcing banks to lower mortgage rates.
Congress is going to allow
ways to
lower tuition.
With the exception of very few in our Congress, your representatives and Senators aren't your friend. They hate freedom, they hate prosperity, they
hate the pursuit of happiness, and they hate you for wanting it. They have us by the throat, and they revel in it.
What can we do about it? There are those that believe voting makes no difference. Well, that's something that keeps a person warm and cozy at night
when they realize they voted for the wrong person. I voted for Obama because I was taken in by his words. I hadn't done my homework on him, and
apparently nobody else had either. At least the people like me, anyway. But he was
voted in by America.
Voting them out is the only way to get them off our backs. We are their employers, and they need to be fired. Pelosi, Reid, Ryan, Boehner...all
of them need to be recycled.
Only
we can kick them out. All eyes are on the presidency this year. But whether it's Obama or Romney, it'll be the same suit. The
real
movers and shakers are the 535 allowing the president to do whatever he wants, or preventing him from doing so. Make Congress vote the way we,
their constituents, want them to. Let them know that they aren't in charge any more.
Our economy can't take their crap much longer. Neither can our country or her people.
