Well folks, it looks like they're buttering us up for some big time tax increases.

We already know the tax hikes on the rich won't cover the damage of the deficit.

Not to long ago, Obama seemed to support tax cuts.

He is also bringing up the "Bush era" tax cuts as a problem.

Well that makes sense, since they can't seem to find any sources of revenue to cover the wild and insane spending and looting.

With jobs thin and general pay scales low, no wonder the tax revenues are down.

The voters are getting nervous.

Essentially, the president said that the federal government "spends" when it does not raise taxes.
Brilliant deduction Watson !

Despite the bankruptcies of three green energy companies that received heavy doses of federal tax dollars, Obama also pledged Monday to “double down on clean energy.”

“It means we’ve got to keep on investing in American energy. We’ve got to double down on the clean energy that is creating jobs. But, it also means we’ve got to renew the American values of fair play and shared responsibility.”
Brilliant

Obama told the college audience that trimming the deficit was important, but stressed that “investments” was important as well. He focused the bulk of the speech on an $8 billion program to establish a partnership with community colleges and businesses.
Wonderful

Elsewhere in the speech, Obama reiterated the point: “We need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by ending the subsidies for oil companies, and doubling down on clean energy that generates jobs and strengthens our security.”

In the past year, three firms that received federal loans or grants filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after getting grants or loans from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the Stimulus.
Has He forgotten this is an election year ?

Article and Video
Warning: the video shows Mr. Obama with that real stern and concerned look on his face !

incidentally, we owe close to $50,000 apiece right now

That's because he considers any money as "his" and not ours.

Anything that we have is a gift from our wonderful benevolent dictator.

Better sign up for your govt. issued tub of vaseline.
If Obama ever gets his claws on a second term he will be a dangerous lame duck.

There aren't enough "rich" people in the US to make a dent in the deficit. It's all a sham political game trying to get the millions of American Sheeple on food stamps and welfare to hate people who actually work for a living. And so far for Obama it's working.

This is the dumbest statement I have ever read.

1.2 Trillion over a decade isn't in fact a big dent, but what it does is takes the effective brunt off of the middle class. Why should only those making under 250k pay up to 35%? It doesn't make sense. The job creator theory has been proven time and time again to be nothing more than a fancy way of protecting the exploit. There is no class warfare. What there is is a giant imbalance in the tax code which not only alows for, but fuels the gap between income. The fact is that there are entities which make billions annually and pay zero income tax.

Tax code reformation along with spending cuts is the only way to combat the deficit obviously. It doesn't make logical sense to protect the interests of the top earners solely on the idea that the middle class somehow hates the successful. This isn't true and never has been. What the middle class wants is for those who have been given a great deal by the oportunities this country has given them, to put back into the system at the same rate by which those who work for them do.
To put their money into the US, not Cayman Island accounts with loopholes. Those who make millions by investing others monies and then pay a 13% tax rate is the exact opposite of what this country needs in the White House.

I am by no means advocating all of Obama's ideology, but having the tax code rewritten to throw out this exploit is a must if we're going to make major spending cuts. You cannot make headway by attacking the issue from one side.

START RANT

Obama is the biggest political joke in US history.

He has done nothing but push us further into debt, raise taxes, and do absolutly nothing of what he promised us he would do.

He can't even prove he is a citizen of this country - and every attempt at providing evidence has ended in a possible fraudulent document.

What is this country and our government thinking by alowing this man to continue occupying the White House while he can't provide sufficient evidence that he is a citizen?

Why does he even have above a 10% approval rating when he has not lived up to even 1% of his promises?

He is a joke & a horrible leader who litterally bows to foreign leaders and powers.

WTF America! Wake up!

End Rant

The only person happy with the current state of affairs is Jimmy Carter, who is no longer regarded as America's worst President.

If this were so, he would have zero chance of re-election.
We know this to not only be inaccurate, but highly unlikely as well.
It's funny how as jobs grow and the economy slowly gets better how the right makes more and more empty claims about Obama being the worst president ever. He magically becomes worse as the country does better.
