What did you not read my post? I clearly stated why.

But the war hasn't started yet. I don't think GWB used sanctions on Iraq and if he did it wasn't for as long as Obama uses them.

So again I ask you why are you complaining that Obama is trying to avoid this war at all possible costs? I am far from an Obama supporter. I just know that the party i align myself with would already have been in war, and might have won, by now!

I love Iran because they make the day interesting.

There I said it.

I also love that Flock of Seagulls song with Iran in it.

Easy. Here are your answers.

Q: "Iran wants Israel wiped off the map."
A: What's wrong with that? They are a rogue state, in perpetual violation of International Law whose religion preaches that they are the "chosen ones" to dominate the entire planet. They sound pretty damn scary to me.

Q: "Iran leader visits Latin American communist countries"
A: Impossible. There is only a single, solitary Latin American country which is communist...Cuba. However, there ARE plenty of Latin American countries who participate in Market Socialism like our Nato allies in Scandinavia and elect their leaders in democratically-run elections...just like the U.S. used to do in the 1950's.

Q: "Iran creates suicide bombers"
A: Incorrect. RELIGIOUS LUNACY creates suicide bombers. To date the only government to achieve this upon a large scale has been WWII Japan and their Kamikaze bombers. Many of the Iranian people must endure their religious lunatics in much the same way that The West is forced to endure theirs. Dispense with the whacky superstitions on a global level and there isn't really a problem.

Q: Iran set to announce new nuclear advancements
A: So what. They are in full and complete compliance with the nuclear arms non-proliferation treaties. Besides...if anybody in Iran wants a nuke I'm sure they could pick up one of the MANY THOUSANDS which have been "lost" by the former Soviet Union.

Q: Iran creates stealth flying boat.
A: Perhaps they wouldn't feel compelled to do so if we weren't threatening them all the time. Besides...did you see that "drone missile" that they created a couple of years ago? It looked like it was made out parts found in a junkyard.

Q: Iran sends Obama model toy drone.
A: More reasonable than the full-scale invasion and slaughter of hundreds of thousands of civilians which the US would no doubt be all too eager to get underway should it have been an Iranian drone over US airspace.

Q: Iran will not stop nuclear program
A: Why are we concerned about this? So does Pakistan, Israel, Britain, the U.S., Russia, China, N. Korea, and India (just off the top of my head). Again...irrespective of having the ability to produce weapons-grade uranium...they can pick up one of the thousands of unaccounted for nukes from Russia anytime they want. It's like making people register their firearms...but not caring who owns cruise missiles.

Q: US is ready with lethal weapons if Iran attacks (YES ATS this is a good thing! Do you not want to be protected?)
A: No. I do not want to be "protected". I want to be left the F#$@ alone. I'll take my chances in the big, scary world...thank you.

Why is this a party issue? And you think that would be a good thing?

... and might have won, by now!

Iran's military is vastly superior to what Iraq had and how did that work out? That is just wishful thinking.

but their government is on its way out....the people will eventually overthrow them....they almost did last time. The people want a democratic system of government. I say let them win. Give them time, things will take the course they must, why get our collective panties in a bunch. Who cares. Leave them alone and like before, the radical Iranian youth will overcome. They are an intelligent and motivated people when it comes to justice and rule of law. Singling out a Looney here or a Looney there doesn't represent the whole of that nation. They generally are willing and able to effect positive change. Hell. they had more strength than the CIA and eventually ousted that government. what's the diff.....

Yes...because we have done so well in "winning" wars recently. Vietnam. Iraq Pt. 1, Afghanistan, Iraq Pt. 2, the "war" on drugs, the "war" on illiteracy, the "war" on terror, the "war" on Christmas.

Remember when America used to END wars instead of START them?

Actually the U.S. has a lot of suicide operatives, and did a lot of suicide missions through it's history. They are just not labelled as morons, nor extremists, and they don't scream before exploding.

Go to the CIA headquarters and you will see a huge wall, filled with tiny stars. They have no name, nor face, nor medals attached to them.

Those are the people who sacrificed their life and their identity for their country.

You call them heroes (me too, by the way). "They" call them suicide operatives.

We call them suicide bombers. "They" call them martyrs.

Propaganda and labeling are different from reality.

If you believe the hype, than you know WWIII is supposed to dwarf even WWII. I'm just trying to understand why anybody would stand with Iran. Some stupid middle eastern country who thinks its more powerful than the west and actually has people believing them!

I am a brainwashed, troll that loves the MSM. The only problem with you conspiracy theorists is that you make assumptions without even listening to the FACTS! All of the things happened in my OP!

By some of your logic, everything that the radicals does is not Iran's fault, so everything the radicals in our own country is not our fault. WTF? Iran is run by religious fanatics!!!!!

You haven't really done a good job explaining to me why you are on the Iranians side when you get everything you've ever wanted in the West. Would you want to LIVE in Iran? Would you swear allegiance to Allah and Ahmadinejad? Would you sacrifice your life for their cause?

Yes, this post is a joke because the excuses you people have given me are ridiculous. Blame the political system! What? I am asking you why you are siding with Iran and it's because you hate the political system so you condone acts of terrorism and international laws/treaties?

LOL. "Iran is run by religious fanatics".

So is the United States, goofball. Either way you cut it...both sides what their young men to swear allegiance to a fictional deity and sacrifice themselves in the name of corporate profits and oil hoarding. Iran occasionally stones their women to death. Texas occasionally executes retarded minors.

Really...what's the difference? The peasant-folk of the world are just busy trying not to get thrown into the endless meat grinder of war.

I love when people make arguments about peace and war, and exchange arguments forward and backwards, defending peace and all those things...

...and then ends a post saying "some stupid middle eastern country".

I'm not pro-Iran. Neither am I anti-US or anti-Israel.

But I do respect all cultures. Maybe the doubts you have are based on your prejudice.

Stop watching Fox news and read a book. "Their people" don't believe anything of the sort. The only problem is that "their people" and "our people" all follow orders from from their fascist governments. We will not have world peace until the soldiers throw their guns on the ground and say "This is bull#".

By the way...it was a "stupid Middle Western country" that convince you that the US is more powerful than their track record would indicate. Irregardless of any other reasoning...MAYBE WE SHOULDN'T GO TO WAR FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT WE HAVE NOT WON A MAJOR CONFLICT IN 67 YEARS!! KOREA WAS A STALEMATE...AND WE HAVE LOST EVERYTHING SINCE.

Perhaps "self-preservation" is a reason everybody can rally around?

what nukes????

Like Russia,, they had thousands and not one went off in their violent transition....do you think the one or two they "might" have would be any different?

I don't see it....thousands VS 1 or 2 maybe even 3 they "might" have.

In the end a change by a democraticly motivated people would be responsible I think.

Indeed. Dehumanizing the "enemy" is a classic technique of fascist manipulation of the populace.

Exactly. The most dangerous thing in the world is a person, country, or religious group who feels they "have nothing to lose". Mutually Assured Destruction only worked because the Russians had the resources they needed and were a vast enough of a country.

Once again...bullying is simply not the best negotiation tactic.

I don't love Iran, nor do I love the U.N. either or the United states for that matter. I just look at it this way and I see America's point. Iran is ran by a theocratic radical party of islam, they're hellbent on starting the 12th Imam and dominating the world through Shariah Law and islam. If they get a nuke, in my mind it's no question to think of what they'll do with it. Just look at Nazi germany, that's what happens when you wait and don't act soon enough.

Now from iran's standpoint, they view America as an imperialistic war mongering nation. They want the U.N. out of the middle east. Which i don't blame them. They hate Israel as they see them as foreign agressors.

I just hope ww3 doesn't happen that's all

So all of the official reports I am hearing about, you know ones that top officials tell the MSM to tell us about Iran makes me sick to my stomach everyday

Iran wants Israel wiped off the map.
Iran leader visits Latin American communist countries
Iran creates suicide bombers
Iran set to announce new nuclear advancements
Iran creates stealth flying boat...
Iran sends Obama model toy drone
Iran will not stop nuclear program
US is ready with lethal weapons if Iran attacks (YES ATS this is a good thing! Do you not want to be protected?)

To me, it seems that this poorly put together administration has done everything in it's power to not go to war with Iran and Iran is not showing any signs of stopping their threats against the west. So why do people on ATS which the government (for now) allows to operate, love Iran so much?

Again, we have pretty much bowed to everything so we are not in WWIII already. Trust me, if a republican like Reagan or Bush was in office we'd be in war right now. I don't understand why you people are complaining about the US sanctions, and we should just leave Iran alone, when they are the ones threatening us!

Please explain this to me slowly, because apparently I am just a paid shill from the republican party and I also am a war monger.

I starred and flagged because you seem to be one of the few here that don't blindly and stupidly love Iran and make them out to be the victims while espousing the same kinds of freedom-loving virtues that Iran's regime hates.
