From the original source:
百元人民币暗藏“跪拜猫” 专家称系防伪图案
"Worshiping cats” hidden in 100 RMB bill, expert says its just an anti-counterfeiting design"
(source)

The alleged hidden image looks like 3 cats, with 2 cats worshiping, prostrating, or kneeling before a third cat in the middle with its arms raised.

Never has a “Chairman Meow” joke been more appropriate.

So somehow, Egyptian culture survived long enough to be inserted into the background of Chinese currency, only to be largely ignored or unnoticed by the populace?

Smooth, bruh.

Their central bank is of course denying it, but it's one of those "once you see it, you can't unsee it..." things. Silly Chinese, don't they know they're supposed to be using occultic Illuminati symbolism on their money?

I would like to know why the chinese still eat cats if their
currency shows cat worship?
I would never worship a cat,but I am owned by three of them.

The two kneeling figures look more like white whales with arms than cats. Why would they make them so cartoony?
I think it is Pareidolia at it's finest.

No, no, you missed the part where if you scratch them, it smells like a litter box.

Apparently there are other hidden images in this note, one for instance located on Mao's lip that I can mention here since this is a family site. Perhaps the engraver was rebelling in his own quiet way.

Sorry to be a negative cynical skeptic, but the photo the bill and the "felinized" cartoon are not the same. Where are cute pointy ears? Where are paws? Where are my paws!!! As mentioned earlier in this thread, it can be transfored into two whales worshiping a hammer-fish with the same amount of effort.
This is clearly a case of someone with too much spare time and too developed imagination and 100 myauan bill.Oh , and he/she/it clearly loves cats. All pluses.

How apropos. You don't own cats, they own you. You may think they're asleep and unaware, but they're really watching your every move and plotting your downfall....just like the Chinese.

I should know, I have 9 cats.

Two whales worshiping a hammer-fish??? C'mon, can we please keep this a serious discussion of worshiping kitty-cats?

Seriously, they look more like "Pearl" off of "Spongebob Square Pants" rather than cats. Keeping it serious.

So it's two whales, modeled on Pearl from Spongebob Squarepants, worshiping a cat? Okay, NOW it just got weird. Just when we thought we had it figured out...

At first glance,

It reminded me of an Illuminati owl.

That makes more sense than cats worshiping other cats.
Cats don't worship.
Cats ARE worshiped.
