Saw this photo in the UFO board and noticed these lines in the crater, are they too perfect to be natural?

Looks like a giant cat decided to use Mars as it's litterbox.

It looks like natural phenomena to me.

Of course, I'm no geo physicist or whatever the proper title is.

I swear this has been brought up before a long time ago. I'm sure you'll find it if you do a quick search with the search option, that's is if you haven't already.

Peace

It looks like natural lines caused by wind and sand.
The same effect can be found all over the world. Here's a photo of Ayers Rock here in Australia.

Study done on lines in rock.

hmm
This seems more strange though because is in crater and the other wind features seen everywhere else.

edit- does look like a chip

edit on 12-2-2012 by NLDelta9 because: (no reason given)

Yeah, nothing there for me

Search for right angles.

And isn't the spacing of them also strange, they each seem to be the same except on the ends.

It's just sand dunes, nothing that interesting.

Here's another angle taken from the Spirit rover:

Some more parallel sand dunes from Australia from the Simpson Desert:

Parallel sand dunes are natural formations. Interesting though.

Thats a nice shot, did they say was dunes?

I still think they look better than the earth shots so far though. The straightness, spacing and where they start/end.

Google + Types of Dunes. It's a wonderful tool for answering all sorts of questions. I think that's why Google is there?

longitudinal lines can be seen on the face of this dune.

There's also a type of dune called a Longitudinal Dune

Further, due to some differences in atmospheric composition, density, and the gravity on the planet, some formations on the planet may be a little bit different than Earth terrestrial counterparts.
There are, however, many examples and similarities that can be found in prevalence here on Earth for comparison if one were to take the time to look.

Don't feel bad, first time I saw this photo I thought someone photoshoped a flag there just to rile people up.
If I remember right, it was about the same time the "Obama was on Mars" stuff started....
