Everyone knows that Bush has a terrible record when it comes to giving access to the press. He's held less than 20 press conferences since becoming president. I heard today on CSPAN that Bush Sr had given over 120 by this point in his presidency.

But now Kerry's showing similar 'aloofness'. WTF? I think we the people should be demanding that the candidates give the press access to them regularly, especially in an election season.

Of course, the skeptical part of me wonders if our current press corps would ask them anything beyond Swiftboat and AWOL questions. So maybe it doesn't matter.
