Right or wrong, these cuts will just pile on the misery and doom and gloom for all concerned .

The tax and benefits systems have both grown arms and legs since WWII with the net result that the "professional unemployed" and "rich tax evaders" screw the system. Your average person is caught between two systems which work against each other.

Needless to say with two systems conflicting it provides volumes of cannon fodder for whatever political point you wish to make (left, centre or right).

The solution is :
1. Scrap all benefits and tax exemptions.
2. Tighten up the ID system so we can clearly identify UK citizens. (NB illegal immigrants will NEVER be an issue after this so we don't need to get upset about them!)
3. Tax ALL GROSS INCOME at around 40-45%.
4. Apply a post tax "state allowance" of around £5000 for EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN from birth to death. This becomes the unemployment benefit, state pension etc etc. It would be graduated from birth to 18 so that at birth it equals the current child benefit.
5. Apply an optional additional state allowance top up equal to a maximum of 1/100th of NET RPI ADJUSTED tax paid.
Apply a similar tax system to companies however I have not studied the tax receipts of companies to work out the median levels as I have for personal taxation and benefits. However:
7, Corporate tax is based on gross margin (eliminates tax avoidance)
8. An additional rate of tax proportional to the difference between the highest and lowest earners. (this will promote fair wages)

Such a system absolutely guarantees that no matter how little you work you will always be better off.
Such a system absolutely guarantees that people who work will ALWAYS be better off, even when retired.

Its hard. Cuts need to be made. Really it would be good to see the big bankers being held to account for their actions...

I do not understand this english social security system.

You take money off already poor people via tax, leaving them most poorer. Then you give it to them back, via tax credits ... after you've employed 100,000 fonctionnaires to shuffle forms around their desks.

It is a mad system !

As soon as there are enough people controlled and in need of the system in order to survive, it's time to use them to produce the pretty little things the elite desire.

When there's enough people to put on state farms, oil fields, factories etc, then the goal has been reached.

All in the plan I believe.

Its all based on, power and control. Its an interesting story actually, monarchs and nobility lost there power to the socialist elite who through business and banking, jobs that essentially only nobles could afford to pay there children to train to do, as generations go by and noble blood is lost and "entrepenuers" began to make money quickly, with overseas trade. They wanted power themselves, now the best way was to say that the monarchs were not for the people, so they form a "government" and we choose our leader. Through this they still maintain power, and we are all quiet, we dont throw revolutions and the like because we are "free". The benefit system is great because again seems like its helping people, but it dosnt many people who get money for nothing, cant find the enthusiasm to work.

Anyway shortcut to 2012 and with taxation getting higher, benefit systems being installed in the us, health benefits and the like all are subtle control mechanisms. For example, if i was going to buy you, id give you something out of kindness. then when i rob you, you would think it cannot be me.

The Benefits System in the UK is a shambles. I can honestly say that having been a client adviser and a visiting system assistant for the Dept of Work and Pensions.

The people they employ are all from the ghetto with ghetto attitudes and the most unhelpful, look down on others and judge type characters..

They do not know what they are doing!!

The political side of things is no better.. the new coalition government are simply applying the squeeze without any respect or concern for their actions.

They say we are living in hard times and cut backs need to be made but at what cost?

Today the benefits system is so complex and red taped that just to apply for some help from the state you now need to quite literally fill out books! of personal information.. everything from sexual orientation, to income, to bank account details, to all your ingoing and outgoing capital and bills.. its ludicrous.

What we need is a complete overhaul of the system. A new fair means tested system which caters to the individual needs of each person based on the merits of their particular case.

The mentally ill and disabled are being screwed in an immense fashion right now. Those most in need are being processed like cattle being led to the slaughter.. and without knowing your rights you will be left with nothing!

It stinks the whole damn set up stinks!

The coalition government are nothing more than a mafia mentality run organization. The will squeeze every last drop of blood from you and when they are done they will toss you to the curb and close their doors!

What a sad sad situation they have created!
