Another boogie man for the fear driven right wing -- feeds right into the authoritarian personality. These guys are too easy to manipulate.

Yeah, but our fear driven Constitutional Rights Second Amendment types are whipping up on you fear driven socialist/communist tree hugging, global warming fearing types.

Some days you win with fear. Some days you lose with fear.

I prefer to be on the fearfully winning side.

It's a tough world out there.

Boo!

Piss off with the American hero thing. The Japanese viewed the Americans as cowards as they wouldn't fight and would just hide. Australia saved itself, and your country came in at the last minute in the Pacific and didn't do much besides the island campaigns.

Didnt do much......

Have you heard of Hiroshima?
Have you heard of Nagasaki?

FTA:

While delivering one of the liveliest and best-received speeches at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre said the president's low-key approach to gun rights during his first term was "a "conspiracy to ensure re-election by lulling gun owners to sleep."

Hardly sounds like factual evidence there.

They were war crimes, and should have been treated as such. Japan was already defeated by the Allied Forces.

They should be treated as war crimes as America mass murdered alot of innocent civilians, men, women and children. I said that America didn't do much in the Pacific besides the casual Island campaign.

And apparently he hadn't heard of Guadalcanal and the other battles of the Solomon Islands.

The Solomon Islands, over there on the map near Australia where the Japanese amassed to begin their invasion of Australia.

Just think, if it wasn't for our Marines, Australians would be eating Sushi right now.

Have you tried looking at some sources? The japanese had plans to invade Australia yes, however, were only going to do so if New Guinea was a pushover. They underestimated the Australian troops in New Guinea and thus were defeated, that's why there was no invasion.

Japan, if succesful in New Guinea was going to invade Australia in three spots, a couple of KM's East of darwin, in between Townsville and Brisbane, and just south of Sydney, that way, they could cut off the three important cities.
