''Iran has cut off access to the Internet, leaving millions of people without email.

A source inside the country confirmed this morning that Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo email is no longer available. Ditto for Facebook. So far, the government has not made any announcement about the service interruption.''

Probably just the server has a virus or something.

Or maybe Iran is on the way back to a little law and order...

They can oppress their people, censor their internet and ATS will still side with Iran.

I wish I could find that post where someone was sympathizing with Iran, saying if they were charge in the world, they wouldn't "act like the US does."

Not 100% factual. What they have done is blocked SSL, so no secured email or website is accessible when using Secure Sockets Layer. I saw it go by on some website but didn't bother to make a post.

Linky containing more linkies

Thanks, just updated with the new info

Are we sure the CIA didn't accidentally cut all the major undersea data-cables again?

Really? I mean really? Well then you may as well call on war with China and North Korea. You do realise that China doesn't allow access to Facebook and such sites? What say you then?

ETA: I see you say it was sarcasm. In that case, add one of these
- It would clarify that. 4 words leaves little for one to grasp sarcasm.

I would think that they might feel that some of the phony freedom fighters and paid protesters are using social media to arrange things. Ever notice how some of those people have signs written in perfect English?

They spell better and print neater than most Americans.

Or did outside forces kill the net for some reason and the Iranian government leaks this rumor not wanting to reveal that they got hacked?
But then why?
Blackout of information, communication pre-cursor to an attack?
Nah. Probably not.
