Black disc flying alongside plane

Although I have been a member for a while, I haven't been one to post anything, I just enjoy observing other people threads etc. However, last night I witnessed something that warranted me posting this.

Whilst outside having a cigarette around 12.30am in the Charnwood Area of Leicestershire a fast plane flew over, (nothing new as I live near an airport) closely followed alongside it by a black circular craft which eventually flew past the plane at high speed and disappeared in the clouds. Just wondered if there were any other witnesses to this?

Interesting. Since I don't live in your area, I cannot claim to have seen any such thing.

However, I thank you for posting it. Hopefully, more eyes than yours have witnessed this event.

As for the ufo, how dark was it outside? Did it have any lights?

I would report it to your local UFO group, as it sounds spectacular and they will want to hear about it.

Moon was full, which lit up the horizon and you could see right through the clouds which covered the sky. The clouds were very thin and created a light background for the disc which gave the distinction from the black sky. It was certainly moving of its own accord, as it looked like it was trailing the plane before it passed it. My garden backs onto Europe's largest quarry so the skyline is always clear from other buildings, so I was able to track it across the sky. The plane certainly wasn't landing or taking off from the airport nearby and was travelling at a phenomenal speed also. Plane had a pale orange light on it.

Beautiful detail. We need more of your sightings on here...half the time, they can't describe it, they can only post pixelated messes or obvious hoaxes.

Funny you said that. I live in Illinois. And Sunday I was getting out of my car at sunset and notice an airliner flying over barreling out beautiful white contrails so I focused on it a little because it was lower than cruising altitude (we live in the descent zone for Lambert Airport). It was still pretty far away but I thought I was seeing a black object flying next to the rear of the airplane. It move up a little, then pull back. I lost sight of the plane as it flew into the Sun. I just shook my head and thought no one would believe me.

Scant description really. We need details... (in lieu of video or pics). Clouds? Moonlight? Shadow from "fast jet" may have played on clouds in moonlight to make it appear that jet was being "shadowed" by something? Dunno...

Um, the shadow would have been on the ground, not the clouds above it. Moonlight does NOT cast shadows upward.

Thank you that was a little more info. When you bring reports to ATS you can count on being carefully scrutinized . If your claims are undebunkable then there may be something to it. I am not trying to debunk your story, just scrutinizing it.

The full moon was low on the horizon?
Was the jet above or below the clouds as it went by?
Was the moon behind the jet from your viewpoint?
