It is strange to witness the end of an era. But 110 is a ripe old age. But what is even more amazing is this woman's life, not the age.


Green was 17 when she joined the Women's Royal Air Force in 1918, two months before the armistice, the BBC reported.

I guess I had thought the last surviving participant of WWI had already died. But maybe that was just in the US.

Wow....imagine all of the changes she saw in her live time. Industrial revolution through the dot com boom and bust to today's international messes. I bet it looked familiar though to her....at least if you took all the modern technology.

Horse and buggy to space travel. Her life must have been quite the ride...no pun intended!
