Shouting Cameras Bark Orders At Residents To Leave Their Own Property

Is this an invasion of privacy? Assault? There has to be something that can be done but my guess is that even if it is totally wrong and invasive, nothing can be done because THEY make the laws.

With millions of CCTV cameras installed in London alone, one wonders just how many of these features are already in operation or could be activated with a flick of a switch.

I tried to search for just exactly how many of these invasive cameras there are but the only answer seems to be "Millions" just as the article states. MILLIONS!

Some don't like the source but when it's right, it's right.
www.prisonplanet.com...

“This kind of technology may be acceptable in a police state or a science fiction film, but it is absolutely not in modern Britain”, spokesman Nick Pickles told the London Telegraph.

“The idea that a Robocop recording will tackle antisocial behaviour and crime is as laughable as it is a total invasion of privacy. Who knew councils had the authority to take your photograph simply because you walked into a communal garden?”

It was even suggested by some within government that some of the cameras may be fitted to speak in the voices of children in a bizarre psychological move to make people subjected to them more compliant.

Since that time, the technology has become more widespread, and more sophisticated with cameras now ready to lip-read, record conversations, use x-ray scans to see through people’s clothes, check faces against criminal databases, automativally detect ‘suspicious’ behaviour and even predict crimes before they take place.

A little bit of old footage but still very relevant IMO.

Ok, so here's the plan. Everyone in London go outside at the same time and grab just ONE of these all seeing eyes and tear it from it's base. They can't get everyone...

Peace

I know in amsetrdam they have cameras that can detect 'distress' from someones voice and alerts police. Some features of cameras are definately sinister but they can be reassuring depending on where they are and what their purpose is.

haha just watched the 2nd video, its in the town im from. My friend got shouted at by one of those cameras for dropping liitter on a drunk night out

Yea my first thought was this is a good way to lose a bunch of cameras! Being monitored is one thing, but barked at by cameras, especially for inaccurate reasons is pushing it. Seems like another page from the Orwellian handbook. I bet as we begin to see more drones involved in our lives, they too will begin barking commands at us.
What's next, a little zap from these devices to keep us in place?

S+F! Great post
Wonder who will be monitoring all of this, especially the x-ray cameras! Its something that could easily he abused, as ben parker said, with great power comes great responsibility.
Also, I imagine having children's voices on these things would be bloody creepy!

I would look at it as the gov supplying skeet for target practice. If it's on my property, it's subject to the same laws as my clay pigeons or an unidentified threat.

I can't imagine these things in my area but when i was in Asia, they had a few. We got a little drunk one night and kicked a pole with one of the cameras that talked.

A voice came on and asked (In Korean) if there was a problem?

I just couldn't speak enough Korean to voice the problem I had with it. Although now I know all the correct words...

Peace

I worked briefly for a company that was the voice behind the camera. Viewpoint CRM in Lowell Massachusetts, USA.

We were mostly screening areas that were high in actual drug and theft related crime in DC/Virginia.

This was 2-3 years ago, and we would do security sweeps as well with the cameras panning left to right up and down, put into stairwells and around corners.

Some of the people we were dealing with were regular offenders that had come to see a certain name 12-15 times a night. They would have to check in with their ID, at a camera then we would buzz them in from behind the safety of our camera. I was already an avid ATS fan at this point and realized I was BIG Brother. It was strange actually being big brother. But honestly guys there was a flipside. We may have prevented some legit crime as well. Even though a criminal will always find a better way to get away with their hustle.

Watch out. Sssssssssh, Big Brother is watching you.
Soon you will get an automated voice telling you, you can't post that on ATS.

If this is the kind of crap the founding fathers dealt with, I could understand the discontent.

It's creepy and makes me want to leave the city. But, wait, there's always that eye in the sky to watch over us. There are even surveillance cams in the national parks.

The encroachment of the State on private property is becoming more and more prevalant. This is part of the communist/socialist Totalitarian model and why Prez Barack touted the model of apartment living for "sustainability". It's the UN One World Order top down and bottom up.
