Lebanese security officials seize suspicious cargo from US, Brazil

www.presstv.ir

Lebanon’s security officials say a suspicious cargo containing huge amounts of US dollars, guns, special passports and credit cards have been seized upon arrival in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, from the US and Brazil.

The items, packed in a number of chests and delivered via airmail, were discovered at Beirut’s airport, the Lebanese security officials said.

The chests also contained a list of both well-known and ordinary Lebanese citizens including a figure related to Salafi extremist groups. The security officials have summoned a number of the individuals, whose names were on th

Yesterday, the russian intelligence agency said it believed Syrian rebels are meeting with western special forces at Lebanon's border. Now this busted plane brings more evidence that the events in Syria are only covert ops and propaganda. They are mercenaries and not citizen , trying to remove Assad from power.

Question: How can one stop a five million armed army on multiple entry points.

What a surprise. NOT.

More weapons for the Syrian rebels...

Syria is now officially a proxy war between Russia and the USA.

hmm..kinda waiting on the cough cough official statemant from germany regarding its deployment of troops to assist the co-coalition forces..oh the irony of it all. Stupid citizens, their attention and memory span equals no less than a decade. Well im off to cook some dinner and enjoy the view of the digital propaganda spreading across the map.

You all should begin tracking conversations and mapping first and consecutive tweets and news across the globe....its similar to watching a virus spread in a scifi movie, but this time, its no scifi its real.

Package intended for Syrian Free Army Via route though Lebanon into South West Syria Is my speculation.

US Senator John Mcain has today said that is what the US should be doing.

Was he "going public" because he knew this package had been intercepted?

Thankyou for bringing the rare gem of proof that US is covertly involved in destabilizing the nation of Syria. That is the only interpretation of these events that we hear rumors about. Same thing occurred in Libya. Lebanon is a port and on the border with Syria. Just where you would expect them to hide their ops in plain sight. Wooops! Got caught! Who was with the shipment when it arrived? Whom is it addressed to?

Wish they would get a lot more specific about this stuff. Whose pass ports? How many US payoff dollars? How many guns, what type? Lets pull the dirt out from under the rug and see who is behind the Syrian "rebellion".

Think about it though. What if the U.S. sent this to have these people get in trouble, knowing it would be found just to have the Lebanese security forces lock them up or worse.

Seems like sending one with a bunch of Hezbollah members ID's in it would be to funny.

Out of curiosity, and setting aside that PressTV is the offical mouthpiece of the Iranian government, why lebanon? It would make more sense to just go through Israel and either through the Golan, southern Lebanon or jordan to get the items into Syria.

With Turkey being as outspoken as they have been about Syria, they could have shipped items through there.

Something about the article doesnt make sense.

On the flip side with Russia and china vetoing UN resolutions, the US and Turkey have both stated they are considering supporting the Free Syrian Army.

Probably because we are talking about Syria and not Iran.

Secondly we do just fine arming our own rebels here. No need for outside assistance.

Maybe the packages got through in Israel,Jordan, and or Turkey?
If this story has any basis in truth,I would bet there is more than one "package."

Yeah so not a US op. You would have to wonder who would be stupid enough to ship weapons, money and a list of names together. Makes one wonder if any of this story is legit at all. Of course Lebanon is so full of different armed groups it could be any of them I suppose if true at all.

The strange part is if the US wanted to get this stuff in they could have easily brought it in through diplomatic mail that can not be searched and then had it smuggled out of a embassy in a diplomatic protected car.

The US could have also dropped this stuff from a aircraft into a number of areas of lebanon where there are groups friendly to the US for further transport.

Or this stuff could have been run through Israel and there agents could have transported it through Lebanon (Mossad)

That right there makes me believe this is a bogus story planted by Iran through Presstv
