Doing further reading today, I noticed somethign interesting.

The US isn't cutting diplomatic ties with Syria, they are simply saying they don't feel safe operating there at the moment.

Now this strikes me as odd. I would certainly cut ties with such a regime at this point, considering the outcry internationally and the upcoming war criminal charges that will be placed on this dictator once this is all done.

Could the US be leaving, so that this dictator and his army can ramp up the effort to quell dissidence, without having pesky outside influence or oversight?

The MB have ended their mission to monitor the country, now other countries are also thinking of removing their diplomats and closing their embassys.

All for what?
