There are only 2,000 native islanders on those islands.

Instead of all the windy rhetoric, why don't you just offer each person a million pounds and a free home for life in Argentina ?

Just buy them off.

They're British, after all, they'll do anything for money. Or nylons. Or chocolate.

Just ask the Jerrybags of the Channel Islands, they sold everything including their modesty, for only a few Reichsmarks.

The argies tried it at £500,000 sterling per person.......... It was refused

Mate, more than 500 chilenean working at the islands... A lot of ppl from the different islands who came to Malvinas for the goverment assist. The half of the ppl is at the army... Really , the ones who still on the island do it for the payment, not for the land...

The islands were part of the Tordesillas agreement between Spain and Portugal, then you got the Monroe doctrine...
But like UK always do, doesnt matter the laws... they came here in 1833 and take out the spanish guys who were on the island, the same guys who were on the contient...

What would happened if the UK won one of the two invasions to the contient? You still thinking that this is your land?
This invasion was the same, they want an strategic point in the suth atlantic in the entrace to the pacific (cabo de hornos) like you did in Europe with Gibraltar, that is the enter to the mediterranean sea...
You go everywhere you want, kill the ppl who lives there and them, when you full the land with your ppl start to think about what ppl want.... total hipocrecy

Our problem is that we no longer have any aircraft carriers, so if the Argies do kick off again it's going to be very difficult.

Fortunately we have the most advanced subs in the world, so we should be able to blow any surface invasion out of the water, but after that...

...how do you fight a war requiring amphibious landings 12,000 miles away with no air cover?

We'd desperately need some help from the US of A I think.

Maybe the Iranians are making sure we have other things on our minds to take the pressure of them.

Please, let me tell you if you were english and you start to talk like this about a land that belongs to the UK everyone of these guys will smash you and start to say things like "you dont have balls" and things like that...

And if you dont know, Rosas worked for the British empire. He was one of the owners of the train that moves the meat from the inland to the port. He could get to the president cause he was powered by the boring Brothers...

But i think you dont have any idea of that...

For the rest: Rosas was the biggest assasin in Argentina, he exterminated every single native here. Thats why there are non native persons from this land and no blacks in Argentina. Rosas give the order to kill every black person here, there were all slaves, but he gives the order to kill em all...

Good guy Rosas.....

Like I told, Argentina doesnt want a war....
The brits are the ones who want!

maybe they want a war because of this:
GEOGRAPHIC
UK:
Waterways: 3,200 km
Coastline: 12,429 km
Square Land Area: 243,610 km
Shared Border: 360 km

ARGENTINA:
GEOGRAPHIC

Waterways: 11,000 km
Coastline: 4,989 km
Square Land Area: 2,780,400 km
Shared Border: 9,861 km

The entire UK is like the province of Buenos Aires, where I live. And we have 23 provinces

To be fair they wouldn't have been there had you not invaded in '82. So its sort of Argentina's own doing, so don't be upset because we don't trust your government please.

We don't have any aircraft carriers.

But we'd still knock the stuffing out of Argentina - your problem over there? - It's like Nazi Germany - for example, football matches shown free on TV to encourage everyone to watch, then all of the breaks full of glorious news about the glorious government.

Problem is they all believe their own rhetoric, but truth is it's still bull#.

Us? There wasn't an Argentina them as far as I can tell.

All I can say is try it if you think you're hard enough. You were the aggressor in 1982 and once again now. You won't know what hit you if you try it again.

If you think I'm being bitter is because I was THERE in 1982. Young man in 2 para fighting a stupid bloody war because the people who LIVE there wanted to remain BRITISH. Get over it

we didn't invade you as the Islands have never been yours

Yeah, let's throw a load of irrelevant garble from yesteryear to justify trying to acquire an island whose inhabitants do not want to be part of another country.

It doesn't matter what happened in year X, if this went to a referendum (which should happen soon if our leader has any sense) you would get the same result as Gibraltar, almost 100% backing from the people who live there.

It makes no difference if two leaders flex their muscles, they know trying to take the islands is another story.

So, the conclusion, the only way Argentina will get our islands is through force and they haven't got the balls to do this, hence why they keep throwing xenophobic comments our way.

You can absolutely guarantee they won't be ready on schedule, and as of now we have no aircraft to put on them, the typhoon isn't suitable for the carriers, or vice versa.

I think the agreement with France was that we can have the carrier we sold them back if we need it - hahaha
