Winona student, 9, suspended after Michael Jackon-style groin grab in "Billie Jean" performance

A Catholic elementary school in Winona indefinitely suspended a 9-year-old student for mimicking Michael Jackson's famous groin grab during a fundraiser.

Mindy Boberg said the principal at St. Stanislaus' Elementary school, Pat Bowlin, approached her and her son, Lenny, during the Thursday night event.

Not that I am a fan of Michael but this is just insane. I have seen so many stories like this coming out that I really don’t know what is happening to the world. I think the destruction of our society starts small with things like this and happens quicker and quicker if we don’t stand up and stop it
.
This is a catholic school, so they would probably support a paedophile teacher/priest but indefinitely suspend a kid for acting like a man society made a hero out of.

Remember the only people who can stop this crap happening is the public. We dont need our kids growing up thinking they are evil or whatever for doing perfectly normal things.

Pedophiles should not be allowed to teach kids that it is cool to grab your junk, when everybody is looking at you.

Should I really waste my time trying to explain the absurdity of this situation to you?

The kid was suspended for doing a performance that imitated a man who was probably his idol.

All your pedophile stuff is absolute nonsense, he's a 9 year old kid trying to have some fun.

Have a look at the Facebook page and see how many people support him.

Your pettiness and authoritarian stance is just sad. Leave the kid alone.

I don't know, I question the school though. Was there a rehearsal, didn't the school vet these acts? If they knew he was doing a Micheal Jackson dance ahead of time, they should have known that this might happen. Was the boy warned ahead of time not to crotch grab, a typical MJ move?

I wasn't, but now I'm curious why you care so strongly about kids crotch grabbing.

Do you teach young kids that it is cool to grab their crotch?
Why did you post on this thread if your just going to act like that.
I dont care about crotch grabbing, I care about freedom.
I teach kids they are should be able to do what they want as long as they dont hurt others just like no one has the right to hurt them.
Get a life.

Since your precious time is so valuable to you, maybe you should stop wasting it by trying to read between the lines, searching for that which is not there.

The kid was suspended for doing a performance that [color=FCFFB3]imitated a man who was probably [color=FCFFB3]his idol.
I said nothing about the suspension.

Some people truly love serial killers. Some are even idolized. Would it be ok for me to sneak into your bedroom while you sleep, simply because I am [color=FCFFB3]imitating my idol, Richard Ramirez?

I may even think it sounds like a [color=FCFFB3]fun thing to do.

I don't do Facebook.

Your assumption based ignorance is frightening. I have said nothing about the kid.

No act. I was expressing serious concern based on your excessively defensive reply.

Wow I found it really straining to read through your snarky response.

Micheal Jackon != Serial Killer

Argument fail.
Not even close.

The fact that somebody is looked upon as an idol by some people, does not mean that everything they did should be allowed or promoted.

Just because some people call Michael Jackson an idol, that does not mean that everybody should do everything that he did.

No , He's just an alledged paedophile a drug addict and one very very disturbed plastic man thats skin changed from black to white.. As i said he was a very very disturbed man.

On topic.
This child should have been told not to dance like this as it is wrong for a child of that age to dance in this manner.

The childs teacher should be suspended and the parents of the child should be slapped around the head and told to wake up to themselves.

And for all those that say its ok for the boy to dance like this, WOULD you still feel this way if you saw a 9 yr old girl dress and dance like lady gaga.??????????
I bet you wouldnt find it acceptable. And if you did ,well, you are sick.

alledged paedophile
Now show me the proof. This is ATS friend. Pics or it didn't happen.

Accusations are meaningless unless you have proof.

It was a freaking dance move, you people need to loosen the hell up.

After all, that's what an accusation is.

This is a case of a power hungry school official making a mountain out of a mole hill and twisting school policy to fit their opinion.

lacrossetribune.com...< br />
The student was suspended for "gross misconduct" to which the performance doesn't even fit in their definition.

"The WACS student/parent handbook states that a school principal may immediately suspend a student for gross misconduct. It defines gross misconduct as an action that “creates a substantial and unjustifiable risk of harm to another person or serious damage to the property of the school or another person, or conduct which substantially impairs the discipline and order of the school environment.”

It is odd that this child has performed the same routine for the previous two years w/o complaint. And that it was approved during rehearsal.

Wow, you've been reduced to word play. Obviously I know what alleged means, that was my point. There is no proof. But you are correct, my statement wasn't really all that logical. However, anyone with half a brain can clearly see what I was trying to say. Let me rephrase it so your brain can interpret it properly.

Accusations are meaningless. Around here we require proof. Capiche?
