Well, actually, yes. You have a point and there is a point and perhaps it's all a part of the 'seduction game". A man, being a conventional male "provider", is "providing" dinner, and it's his way of saying he's interested, or that he enjoys your company. It's sweet actually, and sometimes results in matrimony. (Oh, my gosh, I first typed "matrimoney". Hm.)

Sometimes these "dinners" feel like auditions anyway, but that can work both ways.

*Like my being asked to go to the Bahamas with someone I didn't know that well. When he asked why I couldn't go --- I told him it sounded too much like a honeymoon.

Indeed

The point of the thread is simple
People are supposed to say "its none of your damn business what I have sex for..be it for love or money..its my body, my decision, and the government has no right to tell me what is and isn't a legal reason for doing it with a consenting adult"

Then realize they just gave the best reason why prostitution should be legal

along with euthanasia also btw

A new way to discuss the topic when your talking to people whom believe prostitution should remain illegal..make it effect their lifestyle or at least something they understand..and how far they personally think the government should go into our bedrooms and private businesses.

Too many hair splitting going on.

Yeah! Let's make it illegal to do anything, anywhere, at any time. You do not go far enough, sir or madam!

I think you're missing the point. It's satire. He's arguing that prostitution should be legal because dating is basically prostitution and thus banning prostitution is just as ridiculous as banning dating. I agree with him. If a woman wants to make some extra money by selling her body then it's none of the government's business. Her body belongs to herself and not the government.

'George signed. "You give me a good whore house every time," he said. "A guy can go in an’ get drunk and get ever’thing outa his system all at once, an’ no messes. And he knows how much it’s gonna set him back. These here jail baits is just set on the trigger of the hoosegow." '(3.185) Of Mice and Men -Steinback

'Of Mice and Men' is the greatest women hating book of all-time. And I agree with Steinback, prostitution is a very honest transaction.

I disagree that you have to pay to get women to have sex with you though. They want it more than us. I dont buy them anything before sex. When you meet a girl for drinks most will offer to pay for the next ones. My advice is let them. If they agreed to have drinks they will have sex with you. Its only a charade and formality that you are having drinks. The important part is to go with the flow and dont mess it up with the small talk.

If you see the girl again there is still no need to buy them anything. But the thing is if you like the girl you are going to want to try to make her happy so the logical thing to do with a capitalist girl is spend money on them. It isnt their fault they respond to that stuff, its societies. Even a girl that isnt all plastic and materialistic is going to respond to expensive gifts. But dont underestimate the value of a thoughtful unique gift. It doesnt have to be expensive or even cost anything at all.

Everyone should mind their own business and stay out of the neighbor's affairs. That's what is wrong with this country. No cares what you think is right or wrong. Do what works for you and nevermind what others are doing. That's what my thought is...

We're ALL prostitutes! As long as we keep expecting (thinking, hoping, and any other poor excuse we can come up with) that we get something in return for something. Prostitution has many faces. Most of them we don't want to see
but, oooh yes, they're there

On the bright side...
Who cares? Live a little!

sooooo, are you proposing arranged dating? or better yet, arranged marriage?? i'd be more then happy with that if i'm paired up with a nice fine lady.

By your definition marriage is prostitution too then, well no...marriage is the end of sex. Wanna get rid of that as well? Or you could just do nothing for them and expect them to give it up anyway
. Personally i'm an advocate for abstinence but like anyone ever does that. You act like women don't enjoy sex, i promise you if they didn't they wouldn't be doing it. It's not like women do not get to do the choosing, with the increasing requirements for penis length and width and the emphasis on the size of a man's penis. The problem is our society is too over oriented on sex and you get bombarded with porn on the internet, sex on television shows, or the grocery store when you walk by a magazine rack and see some half naked woman showing her boobs and butt on a magazine cover.

Women could just be made to wear a hijab and a burka and big bulky robes in america and we can solve all that mess. Sharia here we come.

That article has a sweeping generalisation of emo males doesn't it?

I've known a lot of very straight male bikers who have the ear stretching piercings and I've known a lot of non-emo males (including myself at one time) who used eyeliner (although mine was for just 2 months in the early days of a metal band I was in at the time).

Anyway, I laughed at the "immortality" line in the OP. I'm sure SaturnFX meant "immorality"

I always thought they should legalise prostitution purely because some people need to use those services, some like to work in that industry and if something is legalised, that means it will also be regulated more to stop men and women getting hurt by their customers or pimps.

You have a strange way of getting your point across. I understand taking a different road sometimes to get somewhere, but the way you presented this topic was a bit excessive. Even for me.

But what really gets me is that in your origanl post you asked people not to judge you, then did the exact same thing when you suggested that the people who didn't get your brand of satire go watch cute cat videos. That's a form of judgement on people in that you think they're not mentally competent enough to "get you." Many people don't get MY methods, but you're not going to hear me call them stupid.

Most people in this discussion don't "get you" right now and maybe there's a reason for that. I suspect that when the REAL Saturn FX logs back on, one of your parents perhaps, and realize that you hijacked their ATS account so you could go on your juvenile rant, you'll be in some big trouble young man ( or little girl).

Bottom line: there's nothing wrong with prostitution or dating and trying to compare the two to get your point across, even if you are being satirical, is just weird. Even for this site.

I don't mind sex being everywhere you turn whatsoever. As far as promoting abstinence, I've been abstinent through no choice of my own for a number of years but to me, that just means it'll be extra awesome and special when it does happen with my current girl (only been with her a year almost and it's long distance).

I'm always pro-choice in everything, rather not tell people what to do because who am I to judge and run other people's lives?

Yuh, All sugar daddies apply!!!

Hey, I don't mind working, but I'm done being the sugar momma. Last guy took me for broke. Mine turn to be spoiled.

Ban on dating PFFT... It's been about 10 years since I've gotten any.
Don't you think I'm allowed to have some fun too? Geez. Homeland of insecurity.
HAHA, please.....

I think it is funny that some people think you seriously want to ban dating.

If you are not hurting someone directly it should not be illegal. Aside from fetish, sex is not painful and therefore should be unregulated. (And since I mentioned it. Even fetish should be legal as long as both are willing.) Buy it with a few 20s or a night of movies and dinner. It is all the same to me. Most laws in America are created from a religious bent that is meant to limit everyone based on the morals of a few. I don't tell them what version of the bible to thump...

Exactly...either society has to ban dating, or legalize prostitution. This double standard has gone on long enough.

Hmm.. Well I always thought prostitution involved a person working, and the person paying them. An exchange takes place, where one has no emotional interest in the other.

But that dating, was about two people who have feelings towards each other.

So I don't get your comparison - I do get you're just using the argument to make a point that prostitution should be legal...

I'm fairly sure that when I go to a pub, the bartender does not want to spend their life with me, as they take my cash and give me a beer.

I like penis.

I'm a girl.

If a guy buys me dinner or not I'm still going to crave penis.

Get over it.

OP needs to get laid

Dating is a great thing. It gives you companionship, sex, love, and potentially your future husband/wife. How are people going to get married if they never date? How are people going to have children if they never date?

You seem like one of those guys that hate girls because girls won't give you the time of day.

Yuh, and I'm old-fashioned. If the man can't pay for dinner to take me out the he's not worth dating period.
Other men in the ocean.

Then even if I did give the guy a break, I can just imagine being married to El-cheap O,

Won't take a shower so he can conserve on water.
Splits the toilet paper roll into 2 rolls to conserve on TP.
Uses paper plates so he doesn't have to do dishes.
Makes his own man cave to horde all the food.
Lives off a generator and candles so he doesn't have to pay for electricity.

etc.. Input more El Cheapo comments.

You obviously can't grasp the op's sarcasm, he's making a good point on laws that are god awful. Of course he doesn't want to ban dating ( at least I hope not), he's saying that they should legalize prostitution because it's basically dating (for most people) without the delay of sex.
