Lets be honest.
Quite often, dating leads to intercourse. When you date someone, you pay for gifts, things, food, etc...and in exchange get to have sex with the person.
Not always, but often enough to where it should be looked at.

This is Prostitution...giving money or gifts in exchange for the expectation of sex.

I think that since there is such a good reason why prostitution is illegal in most states, it is also logical we should also make dating, and other material or monetary exchanges that are leading towards intercourse (buying a drink at a bar as an example) be held to the same level of morality.

Lets call our local statesman and demand they put an end to this immortality that permeates every aspect of our society!

Are you with me?

If not, why not? Do you also believe people should be able to prostitute themselves directly verses skip the pretense if not?

______
P.S.: Don't spend your post judging me..instead, speak your mind about your thoughts and values either for or against..and try to be logical about it. You don't know me, but the topic is valid for discussion and comparison. May not be a exact match, but there is plenty that will have sex with a person for rent money, cars, gifts, etc.

Yeah! Let's make it illegal to do anything, anywhere, at any time. You do not go far enough, sir or madam!

There are still people in the world who don't put out for a good long while (although probably few), so dating doesn't equal prostitution.

I'm with ya pal ! It sure would help with teen pregnancy ,

Yes i do believe it is a form of escort service except with a different title
kinda like torture and tactical questioning

Just like marriage , being an exclusive escort lol

we live in a over-sexed world , naturally we try and sugar coat dating as innocent thing normal people do ! even though its escorting at a high cost .

Perhaps dating with abstinence ? but that is the religious path , and we can all see that fading on a daily basis .

Women hand it out like its candy these days it seems to the highest bidder . But at the end of the day , we all know what men want , and why they are taking you out to that nice fancy restaurant .

Do you ladies really think we want to pay those outlandish prices for a romantic meal ? no... lol

its to get access to whats in your pants.

"men use love to get sex , women use sex to get love" a wise man once said

I'm with you op ! but today's society of double standards , and sugar coating , it won't happen.

When you date someone you pay for gifts, food, and clothing as part of growing in a relationship with him or her. There is much more value to not only investing the money but the time which is a display of affection for someone you are attracted to. To say that prostitution and courting are synonymous would be saying that prostitution is a healthy, edifying behavior? Sorry but that prostitute is someone's daughter and I sure would not want to see my own daughters selling themselves to pathetic bottomfeeders who cant figure out how to have a successful relationship.

Exactly...either society has to ban dating, or legalize prostitution. This double standard has gone on long enough.

Never had a one night stand then, huh?

The general idea of getting an escort is..because your attracted to them.

It burns calories...exercise is good, no?

So is a soldier. they are trained to murder people. an 'escort" is trained to make people happy for a little while. Which is the bigger tragedy overall.

I stand by my point...they are synonymous, no matter how much you personally disapprove of their personal behavior. When does your, my, or the guy down the streets personal moral viewpoint become some sort of staplemark fact on another persons lifestyle that you don't have to be exposed to if you don't want?

What are you recommending instead?

Chaparones?
Arranged marriages?
Total avoidance of the opposite ( or sometimes the same) sex?

It's going to be hard to ban what they refer to as the oldest profession in the world.

It seems to me that you are talking about (gold-diggers). In my life I have had opportunities to be a gold-digger but I have chosen not to go down that road.

I was raised to be a lady and to date gentlemen..and that is what I have done. It doesn't make me better than anyone else...it is just the way I have chosen.

In the past when I have dated...sometimes he would pay...sometimes I would pay...sometimes we would each pay for ourselves. Sometimes they would give me flowers....sometimes I would buy them flowers...(yes some men like getting flowers too!).

I have never dated a man for what he could give me in the money and material goods realm...I have dated a man for his good character qualities...what he believes in...how kind and caring he is.

Sometimes with an escort, there is a long period of time before you are doing things there also..what with the undressing and cleaning protocols.

Long, short, etc...these are all subjective. if I want something right now, 10 minutes is a long time. So, the point is generally invalid.
Also, consider this...maybe you must hit a certain financial point before the deal is made...buy em a car and its that night..buy em dinner and flowers and your in the friends phase for a few months until the financial transactions equal about a car anyhow.

Yes, I know I am stretching here, but thing is, you can actually equate the two if you want to...but the point is being overlooked...why is escorting illegal because its stuff for sex, but this is what we do and are encouraged to do overall by a different name called dating...what right does the government have to say what consenting adults do with their own body

I was going to mention the adult industry, but that debate would be too easy and clear...and people would just argue their feelings "well, I dont watch porn, so sure, make it illegal". Dating is something everyone does and can start to see the issue when government tells you how to behave in your own private dwelling

When has banning anything ever worked? That is the question.

My ultimate recommendation is we ask in a very deep way why we are making one illegal to begin with.
This isn't some sort of moral x-ian values thing going on. Christ himself hung out with escorts. He was curious about them, and had more forgivness for him than he did tax collectors frankly.

So, its purely a standpoint of righteousness backed by absolutely nothing..this ability to outlaw a persons private behavior between consenting adults.

Otherwise..I suggest test tube babies. genetic donars. We have the tech, and this ensures we never have to potentially be paying for intercourse ever again.
I suggest the former though.

ha flowers! lol what would they do , put it on the table , or garbage right afterwards? lol . Who gives a man flowers =p . Its totally not in our interest , and if i had a girl give me flowers , i would assume she did not have enough imagination to get me something i would want , and use , or appreciate . But she took the easy way out , which guys usually do and get flowers!

I can just imagine recieving flowers ,

"oh thanks , did somebody die ? "

Only time a man should get flowers is if they are edible ! or if they have something inside them ! like tickets to a monster truck show

Legalize prostitution already. Laws that try to legislate morality are, and have always been, a dismal failure and waste of taxpayer dollars to try and enforce them.

Do like the Dutch do: Legalize it, and make sure the prostitutes are disease-free, because diseased prostitutes are a public health hazard.

As a middle-aged woman, I have come to terms with my squeamishness about prostitution. Do I want my husband to use one? Of course not, but if he was going to, he would do it regardless of the laws against it. Might as well stop trying to control people's base appetites with the law.

As far as equating dating with prostitution, I disagree. If a man buys an expensive dinner, etc., and the woman isn't that into him, he's not going to get it, no matter how much money he spends. On the other hand, if a woman is really into a guy, he doesn't have to give much more than a smile to get some, so I do not agree with your basic premise.

typical take it personal ! i was making fun of the idea of giving a man flowers ! Not you ! im sure your a sweet little angel !

But to give a man flowers is as thoughtless as a man giving a female flowers lol.

Its so cliche and used over and over again. I would do something special personalized for a women , instead of the same old flowers routine! ,

if a girl gives a man flowers that speaks volumes for her! But i didn't mean to make fun of you ! just the idea of giving a man flowers
So i do apologize
