Note: One should not make too much of the "geographical code." It is not meant to be any kind of useable geographical information. The numbering scheme was designed in 1936 (before computers) to make it easier for SSA to store the applications in our files in Baltimore since the files were organized by regions as well as alphabetically. It was really just a bookkeeping device for our own internal use and was never intended to be anything more than that.

Obama's Social Security Number is from a batch of SSNs that were issued in the State of Connecticut. He has never lived in Connecticut so this is highly unusual.

Then another BC and they would let it go. Then let a judge call it and they would let it go. maybe just think logically about it for a moment.... WHY would someone have a birth certificate from a state he/she never lived in?? It's not a typical thing.

I never meant to get this involved in this thread AT ALL. I simply saw some idiot make a totally inappropriate and racist statement and chose to challenge him/her on it.

I don't even care that much if the BC is false or that a private investigator with 30-years experience says his SSN is from Connecticut (or New Hampshire as I previously thought?)

I wonder just what information a birther would accept and then admit Obama was born in Hawaii, is a naturally born citizen and thus the legal POTUS?

Social Security Numbers are issued in specific ways. If you type yours into a government search it will tell you what state it was issued in.
