So I was researching the Belgian UFO wave, and reading about the photograph that was allegedly faked.

from wikipedia:

The main picture of the Belgian UFO Wave is the Petit-Rechain picture. For 20 years, the ufological organisation Société Belge d'Etudes des Phénomènes Spatiaux (SOBEPS) claimed that this picture was genuine, and to this day it remains so. On 26 July 2011, in an interview for RTL, a Belgian TV channel, a man who took a different picture (seen below), Patrick M. confessed that his was a hoax.

And to this day it remains so? I wonder if this is simply old wikipedia info?
Notice the seen below there in the quote from wikipedia?

Well a little below the quote there is this picture and no other pictures on the wikipedia page.

I always knew there were two alleged pictures, but I thought they were both hoaxes.

I searched Petite-Ranchian picture on google and this is what came up.
www.google.com...
showing these images.

According to wikipedia, this is the picture that remains genuine even today....

And the other picture, taken by Patrick M. (thats all they said about his name) was the one confessed to be a hoax.

When I googled that and clicked images, these are the images that showed.

When I hear about everyone claiming the picture was a fake I always see the petite-ranchian photo, even though that one supposedly hasn't been debunked yet?

I apologize if this is really stupid of me, I simply don't understand.

What is the connection (if any) between the two pictures, and why do people keep talking about this photo:
www.ufocasebook.com... being debunked when it is this photo:
images.smh.com.au... That actually has been debunked?

Here's a link to the original thread about the picture being debunked.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Notice how there is a big fat picture of the petite-ranchian image that according to wikipedia hasn't been debunked? Why is this?

I've heard from a colleague on the continent (Jean-Michel Abrassart) that Belgian TV is reporting that the famous UFO photo below (the Petit-Rechain photo of 1990) is a fake and that the person that created it has admitted the hoax.

This is from Isaac Koi's post about the subject in the thread I linked. Is wikipedia wrong? Because if I understand the page right it clearly states that

"The main picture of the Belgian UFO Wave is the Petit-Rechain picture. For 20 years, the ufological organisation Société Belge d'Etudes des Phénomènes Spatiaux (SOBEPS) claimed that this picture was genuine, and to this day it remains so."

The other picture was the one hoaxed. What am I missing?

Again I apologize if this sounds really stupid. As I said before I am very confused about the matter.

If anyone can clear this up for me I would appreciate it.

I'll try to get Isaac to explain his own thread. It would be unfair for us to comment before he does in my opinion.

Watch this space.

Im not sure if what I saw was a triangle or square. It had lights on the corner I saw that went down, kinda like floodlights. Referring to my experience back in the 80's, I wonder if this is what I saw?

Belgian Wave make big splash ATS. I am old enough to remember the overwhelming evidence that came out. Not just pics but many witnesses including police, Radar operators, fighter pilots, and that pic (the fuzzy one). Now a days all good cases have been "debunked" by something as simple like you say as another photo. Gets confusing, huh? I hate it when that happens. The Belgian Wave is a good case study and there are a lot of Google hits to look thru. This is just an overall pic gallery.

Please add your thoughts and comments and questions to the thread already talking about it being debunked.. No need to start a thread about a thread.

Thank you. Closed.
