I stated "Bush was just as bad, if not worse, as Obama."

She laughed as an acknowledgment
that I was doing just fine.

If, and when, a person ends up in ICU, as was my case...

and awakens to a TV blaring that we just 'invaded' Libya,

We ALL need to give the benefit of the doubt to those that may NOT

be aware of what has happened. As I'll point out below...

One can not even be in the hospital unconscious for a day or two without the

US invading (or moving to invade) some other country.

This is Obama. This is who we (they) are... Not Bush.

We need to remember; because we all too soon forget.

It comes across as "shut up, we already discussed this 'HOAX'" yet none of the articles

I love this thread. Not because of anything to do with Obama but because it is discussing a peeve I have with the ATS community/system. Although on this topic, thank you. I look forward to reading the links you provided. Even if it is just to confirm what I think everyone already knows.

It seems the really great threads quickly get lost after their 24 hours in the live.php spotlight. Then people take issue when someone reposts... "use search. Thread closed". I for one appreciate the repost; I might have missed it the first time. Perhaps I just need to learn how to use the site better.

The problem that I see here is that there is no good choice. There is never any good choices. Maybe the reason is because all the elections are rigged. They only leave us with a couple of "choices" that are neither any good. What should be our option? You're right, the time to not speak up is NOT now. But what do we say? Trash the entire system and start from scratch? (Well, that's what I would say, but then again people don't think it's possible). What is "possible" that we can say that will change things?

Seriously, I don't know where to begin, is it about US elections? Is it about Obama's birth certificate? Is it about a certain member who is no longer here, (who once started a thread asking us if we would vote for him if he ran for President ) Is it about ATS and their policies?

The thread is about not taking the sh# that we're being forced to eat.

It's not about birthers, it's not about our broken 2 party system. It's all about getting up and taking a stand. To quote from the movie Network (1976), "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more!"

Here it is, 2012, an election year with nothing to choose for a president. Here we are, intellectuals against the mainstream, (some of us at least), with no outlet to vent our frustrations. And when we do, as our OP did, he just gets called a birther and gets dismissed.

We need to take a stand, individually, throughout the world. And I know it seems tough. I shudder at the thought myself. But the occupy "movement" was a media ploy, so that we could easily be dismissed yet again. We honestly need to.. "be the change that we want to see in the world - Ghandi". The problem is it is really hard to try to do it alone. I psych myself out every time I think of it.

So the question really comes down to this: how do we go about changing the world?
