Obama: My Policies Are An Extension Of My Faith... Religion In Government?
OK...I have scoped through the transcripts of his speech here..
www.huffingtonpost.com...
and here..
www.whitehouse.gov...
I also scoped over several other sources for the speech.
He never said "My policies Are and extension Of My Faith"
Though it should not be suprising that he speaks in a religious context at the annual Prayer Breakfast, he also seems to have gone to unusual lengths to NOT say he does X or Y because of religion, but rather makes the policy choice because it is best for the economy or the American people. He also cited Islam and Judiasm during the speech...
I get your general concern, but I think a reading of his actual speech at the link above is a good place to begin the discussion.
From the speech..
Our goal should not be to declare our policies as biblical. It is God who is infallible, not us. Michelle reminds me of this often. (Laughter.) So instead, it is our hope that people of goodwill can pursue their values and common ground and the common good as best they know how, with respect for each other.
