Two New Moons Found Orbiting Jupiter, page

Currently known as S/2011 J1 and S/2011 J2, the new moons were first identified in images acquired with the Magellan-Baade Telescope at the Las Campanas Observatory in Chile on September 27, 2011. The objects are among the smallest moons yet discovered in the solar system, each measuring only about a kilometer (0.62 mile) wide.

These two bring the total moon count up to 66.

I wish we had 66 moons! It would make for some interesting tidal patterns...

Maybe it's also hiding land... Jupiter is thought to be a Gas giant, but perhaps there is rock near the center?

Anyone been following the Andromeda Council allegations? They say they have put a planet and a moon in orbit behind jupiter.

an advanced race would be able to zoom right in on Earth with thermal/xray/infrared high resolution imagery,
earth probably lights up like a bloody beacon saying HERE WE ARE, not to mention the high frequency radio waves and whatever else were doing which adds a nice CAN YOU HEAR US AS WELL?? vibe to our little planet.

let us hope that there aren't malevolent nomadic tech beings with a thirst for alien bloods.

Scientists today DON'T think Jupiter is all gas. Science believes Jupiter may have a rocky/icy inner core (a core about the size of the Earth) which is surrounded by liquid metallic hydrogen. This liquid metallic hydrogen is formed when hydrogen gas is put under tremendous pressure.

Outside that liquid metallic hydrogen layer is the gas layer that we see, which extends 1/4 or 1/2 of the way toward the center (the transition point between the gas layer and the liquid metallic hydrogen layer is not a sharp and distinct line).
