Hello All,

Let me start by stating a very basic fact. I am not a psychic. I do not consider myself sensitive, intuitive, or even that perceptive. I tend towards skepticism, but am drawn to the paranormal. I have never seen a ghost, but I have experienced a few strange things. Having said that, let me get to the point of this thread.

A couple of years ago I experienced something so strange that I think about it often. What I'm curious about is if this event was a psychic flash, or if I actually somehow manifested what happened. I honestly do not know but would love some feedback from others. I'd also like to know if you've every experienced a one-time, super strange, psychic event.

Here's what happened. I was attending a professional training sessions. I'm hopeless with directions, and as usual got lost on the way to the event. Hence I arrived about ten minutes late: the conference room was full (about 200 people) and the only seats left were at the very front of the room. So I slunk in and took a seat.

The lecturer finished his few announcements, then had everyone write their name on a slip of paper. He then sent folks around to collect our names, explaining that at the end of the day he would draw a name to win a door prize: a copy of his best-selling book.

At this point I turned to those seated next to me and told them, "I'm going to win that book." This in itself was strange...I'm normally very shy and avoid talking to strangers. But this feeling was so incredibly strong. I was POSITIVE I would win that book.

As the day progressed I expected my certainty to fade...but no go. My seatmates spent some time teasing me about my conviction I would win, but it never wavered.

At the end of the session, the speaker wrapped everything up and then reached for the jar of names to pick the winner. I was so sure I would win, I actually stood up before he even drew the name.

The name was mine, of course. Which created a bit of a stir; my seatmates were awed and the speaker even joked about my standing up for the prize.

NOTHING like that had ever happened before....or since. I still think about it to this day, and wonder just what in the heck happened. Did I have a genuine psychic experience? If so, why on that particular day? Why hasn't it reoccured? Or did my certainty that I would win cause me to win? If so, how do I get it to happen again? I've done the self pep-talks but I've never felt that same level of belief again.

So I'm curious, ATS. Are there other folks out there like me? Folks who are average in every way possible, but who suddenly have one moment of....otherness?

Can't wait to hear your replies, suggestions, and experiences!

I've had several. Most of them took place when I was a child.

Once my father came home from work and rushed into the house to find me and said he had great news for me. I immediately knew it was two things. A) He got me a part in a small film with his company, and B) So and so semi-famous-actor was in town and I could meet him.

Once my brothers and I were playing cards and I won the card game because I could "see" exactly what cards my older brother had in his hands. (I picked up his hand, afterwards, and verified that he did indeed have the exact cards I believed he had)

Once my teacher in fifth grade was going over the answers on a math quiz. She came to one problem halfway down the quiz and before reading off the answer (the correct answer was 3 1/2) I "heard" her say 3 1/4. She then immediately said, "3 1/4...I mean 3 1/2."

Thats odd, cause I won a raffle once, and knew I would win the prize ahead of time somehow.. But thats not important, nor the event I was to mention.. When I was 11 I liked this girl who told me she was goin to disney world for vaca in the smmer, but didnt tell me when. And I missed her once school ended, and I wanted to see her.. And I beggd my mom to take us to disney world, knowing that if I could get there, I would find her. I finally convinced my parents and we departed. My 3rd day there I knew I would find her in a sea of tourists.. And sure enough, we ran into each other, much to her suprise. Me, I wasnt suprised, because I knew. This was back in 93 or 94, so way before social media.. I was going blind.

We are all psychic to varying degrees. Too many people dismiss it to coincidence though. I get most of my experiences from dreams.

I dreamed that uncle/godfather was going to die ten days before he passed on. I wasn't that close to him, but I was so sure it was going to happen. I thought about calling my mother to tell her to go see him one last time, but decided against it.

I've had other precognitive dreams along with visits in my dreams with strange timing to them.

Thanks for the replies! Glad to know others have had similar experiences. Reading the replies reminded me of another event.

I was ten years old and our local grocery store was giving away a ten speed bike. The entry box was on display for a month. I entered the contest along with my brother.

I had forgotten all about it when my mom got the phone call. She hung up the phone and called me into the living room. Then she asked, "Guess who that was?"

And I replied, "I won the bike.". Had no idea I was going to say it... it just popped out.

I still have that bike.

To all,

I have been confronted to many paranormal events which I am not going to discuss here, but explain you the way I feel about them.

To be honest, being sensitive has its good and bad, life is a ride, it has ups and downs, as you may know. The fact is, when you become in touch with this kind of stuff, which can seem esoteric (something being available to a few according to disctionaries), you start reconsidering what you can really do as an individual.

That being said, I have come to learn, that no matter what happens, how high or low, we might be to a certain point in our life, life really is what is happening now. By this I mean we have to stay open-minded, but whatever happens, we must keep on going on, and learn from what we experience.

We all want to thrive, but pain is inevitable, not that bad as it may seems although when knowing how to deal with it. With what we learn we become better individuals, no matter if it is esoteric or not.

One who seek may find, but when the time is right for this person.

we all can be psychic to a degree. Some have more of a talent towards it and are more sensitve.Usually your first experience is the biggest and a wow factor to it.Mine was too and I have many experiences since but nothing like the first. Its like having sex for the first time, sure it is good afterwards but you always remember your first. You have be aware and some things are very subtle but most people are too busy with themselves to even notice. It happens to all of us and we have a bad day.Maybe you needed that book and you asked for it with such conviction. If you ask you shall receive.Law of attractions type of thing. You need to open up if it effected you that much. You are more psychic than you think and you need to follow up.

I'd like to know why you were there in the first palce?

Was it voluntary? Skewl related? Work related? Personal? etc . . .

How motivated were you about the event? Were you looking forward to it? Dreading it? Or???

Attitude is Everything sew give us a sneek peek into your subconscious, there may be clues there.

The conference was work related. I'm a teacher, and it was a continuing education seminar. We have to do so many per year and usually the administration chooses which ones we will attend. I picked this seminar as it dealt with the human brain and neuro-science with regards to education, a topic I am fascinated with. So I was quite excited to be attending the seminar.

As for the bike....lets just say its in its twenties and leave it at that.

Ok, I'll give a bit of background about me...

I am a precognitive dreamer.
There is no doubt about it.
I cannot use this to my advantage, at all.
I've never had lotto numbers come to me, or anything like that.
Just normal, everyday scenarios, nothing special, although I've had a few scary ones...
Those haven't come true yet...

But I have had a lot of dreams in my lifetime that have come to fruition full scale.
Dreams that would include full conversations with people I've never met.
Then, months later, that dream would take place, in the real world, to the "T".
It seems that the dreams always take place months in advance.
Never right before the incident, or even close to it.
So I can never tell when the dream will come true.

The first time it happened I thought it was deja vu.
Apparently it wasn't because I can think of hundreds of times it took place.

Also, there have been a few times in my life where I knew something would happen.
One good example is this:
I took a woman I was dating to the casino in my area.
When we got there the first thing I said was:
"If you put one dollar in that machine right there, you will win ten dollars."
She put one dollar in the machine I pointed at and won ten dollars.
It was pretty impressive.

Ok that's enough about me....

Just had one here on this board last week. You can check it out in this thread I put up concerning some activity in my home. Darkblade ends up fielding the issue and goes on to blow both of our minds as a result.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Then a friend alerted me to this thread that Drakblade posted a week prior to my posting mine. Again, Darkblade and I end up floored over the clear connection between his painting thread and the one I posted about the identity of the entity in my home. This thread literally confirmed the validity of his overview concerning my question I posed on my thread.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

It's been quite a revelation and we're both a bit amazed at what transpired. Frankly, I've never experienced such an event in my life. Not one this clear and double-blind in nature. Truth is that neither of us have ever encountered each other in a thread on this board before this one series of exchanges. Something was definitely at work here, and it's pretty fascinating.

Tis possible you willed it to happen, since you were so upbeat.

But things always happen how they are suppose to happen and for a reason.

The Truth About what humans worship....

But that was it.
Yeah, it was a pretty odd experience

Generally though, spirit encounters are almost ALWAYS odd.
Glad I could help

What a fun thread. since we are all sharing ill share a little too.
Lets see, my experines have come in four shapes. First off being an out of body experince, only happened once but was still kinda crazy. Second i have seen a ghost it just walked right past a door frame and freaked me out. This one is a little crazy but i have hade conversations with two seperate people without talking, and then we realized that we were talking to each other ( i think it has to do with brain waves being equal or some crazy thing). And last but not least i had a period of my life spaning about 2-3 years where i could see the future, not in a controlled kinda way like i would just get a flash right before something would happen(like a deer jumping out infornt of my car saving an accident), or some song before someone would sing it, one of the weirder ones was one night i woke up worried about a fire and having an urge to call my parents, i ignored it and the next morning i got a call from my mom that there house nearly burned down due to a clogged chimney.

Anyway, all of this cumulated untill i heard a song and then it all stopped.

There are also some other really bizzare things that have happened. One that i can recall is there was this cheap plastic ring that i threw away 3-4l times to only find it latter either in my house or in a public location (the exact same one) , i threw it in a box in the back of the closet.

Anywho enough crazy talk but i get the feeling that is what this place is all about.
