FBI uses chainsaw in raid on wrong apartment

FITCHBURG (CBS) – It’s going to be a while before things get back to normal for Judy Sanchez and her three-year-old daughter. Last Thursday, a team of FBI agents swarmed her apartment building as part of a massive citywide drug and weapons gang raid. Trouble is, Sanchez lives in apartment 2R. The suspect they were after is in 2F. At 6:04 last Thursday morning, just before Sanchez’ alarm was set to go off, she heard a pounding outside her second floor apartment.

If they were not under the title of "government" the news headline would read

GANG OF UNIFORMED CRIMINALS USE CHAINSAW TO THREATEN, HARRASS AND BREAK INTO THE APARTMENT OF A YOUNG MOTHER AND HER THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.

Depending on the psychological trauma done to the three year old, she could be affected for life, it's a very impressionable age.

they already use bullet proof face masks that can stop a .44 mag on some swat teams.

With respect, if a mistake has been made then a mistake has been made. We have all made them - of course, mistakes involving chainsaws tend to scare a little more than giving the wrong directions or putting one sugar into a coffee instead of two...but...yknow....

On a serious note, this is increasingly common in the UK - where chainsaws are the most effecient wat of gaining access to heavily fortified and secured properties where drug use /dealing takes place. Instances of the wrong house being targeted are of course very rare - but inevitable.
