guess every area has its specific climate and fauna. I'm in the Chesapeake Bay area; sqirrels, rabbits, maybe deer, seafood. there are places you can just wade in the mud and grab oysters.
there are different levels of this. are you at home watching the apocalypse on tv? you have everything there but have to worry about electric/water.
are you on the road? hope you have a go-box in your vehicle.
is whatever's going down driving you out of your home, or you have advance notice and can pack up and head for your backup spot? now you worry about neighbors (if any).

I was reading this post where a guy said hey you don't need to pack MREs or Heatermeals, just bring some rice or macaroni and you can find bugs and salamanders and stuff like that to put in it!

And I was thinking if you see me eating bugs and salamanders, just shoot me ok?
