Nuclear Leak

Just saw this recently was reported an hour ago according to the source, but noticed it on RSOE, and looked into this issue. They said small amounts have been released into the atmosphere, but have no idea what direction it is heading?...I like how they sugar coat and say that very very little was released, that will not harm anyone. How about all the Marines stationed on Pendleton who are doing field exercises off I-5?

I would be willing to bet there are small leaks all the time that aren't reported.

"It would have been very, very small, low level, which would not pose a danger to anyone," Dricks said.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

I don't think there is anything to worry about.

The unit was shut down at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after a sensor detected a leak in a steam generator tube; an assessment of the leak will determine its cause.

The shutdown was ordered out of precaution, Southern California Edison spokesman Gil Alexander said.

FWIW, it's 2.05 pm Wednesday and this occured almost 24 hours ago.

Weather patterns have been mostly ESE to WNW, from what I gather, meaning blowing across the northwest San Diego and southwest Riverside counties and into the northeast Riverside and southeast San Bernardino counties, possibly towards Lake Havasu.

I live in Oceanside, not to far away but I get what your saying. I've always wondered why the birds only poop on one reactor making the top of one white with bird poo. We used to fish off the coast of the reactors and there would be thousands of barracuda boiling in every direction just about everyday. Waters a little warmer there from the water brought in to cool the reactors and then released back in to the ocean. Doesn't sound very safe but there tons of life in the water just beyond the plant.
