WASHINGTON — Long-lost audio recordings of the aftermath of president John F. Kennedy’s assassination have been made public, captivating historians and stirring fascination about that fateful day. Almost 50 years after the November 22, 1963 assassination, a two hour and 22 minute reel was found among the personal effects of JFK’s senior military aide, Major General Chester Clifton, who died in 1991.
The reel contains more than 30 minutes of previously unheard footage of conversations on board Air Force One as Kennedy’s body was being transported back to Washington from Dallas.

The Raab Collection has donated an original audiotape recording to the National Archives that includes taped conversations on President Kennedy's official airplane, "Air Force One," during its flight following his assassination on November 22, 1963. The conversations were between pilots and other individuals on the flight and various individuals in Washington, DC, on the flight back from Dallas, TX, to Andrews Air Force Base.
On one tape you can hear high-pitched squealing voices in the background. The library swears it’s his kids.
