Yes... I did. Very much so.

When a story makes me feel that I am there in that bar scene, it makes it a pleasure to read every following word and sentence, as if, for just a little while, I exist in a 3D movie.

Unless some of the authors on ATS are actual time travellers, I do believe Druid42 is the winner by a massive lead. Congrats to him on an exellent story. Well done mate.

I'll say thanks to all for the flags, but it's no way an accurate represetantion of the quality of writing produced by the members here.

You did an excellent job, and hope to see you in the next contest.

Thank you, Yes I am looking forward to trying different styles and topics. I think we can all learn from each other.

Edit to add: If it hadn't been for your entry making the front page and me subsequently reading it I never would have even know about the short story forum let alone the competition. So I dare say your influence extends to the 2nd and 3rd place because im sure Boncho was inspired by your writing too as was I.

So thank you for the inspiration.

Congrats to all the winners, especially to you Druid42. No matter what you say no one gets that many flags unless they tell an amazing story.

All the stories were amazing though and I as a guy who has entered a number of stories you all made me feel like I'm ut of my league (not that this eill stop me
)

I read much more than I comment on.

However, I read the story you wrote that got you your own writer status. It was very well done.

As a member, I'll tell you that the "league" you are talking about is only a mental construct you place before yourself. You have talent as well, and it's not to be denied. LightSpeedDriver is suffering from the same "I'm not good enough" syndrome. BS.

Your writing is as good as the criticism you receive. You always adapt, and learn, and improve. There are things about my own writing that I question, and I change styles around to fit what I'm thinking at the time. Basically, keep the grammar solid, and you have a story to share.
