Well, first, for all the gals out there, make sure your stuff is in order i.e. make sure your pills are good...

Except for that... It's weird timing that this pops up.

There gonna blame Obama lol

So what do people think ?

I bet the religious folks get a smile from this.

Aint it also weird that the company can't upgrade there factories to fill in the required amount of the drugs? Where do they even make them? China?

The "religious folk" need to consider birth control pills aren't always used just for contraception but to control other disorders like endometriosis, cysts and cancer.

The pill has never been 100% effective. Never.
So this news doesn't come as a shock to me. I would trust normal dose pills but never low dose. The same way I wouldn't trust the 40% thinner condoms Trojan has come out with. Anyone that trusts hormonal contraceptive methods alone will get pregnant at some point, anyways. You need a barrier.

Also, the title on the article is misleading. Birth control pills prevent pregnancy in most cases, just not the ones with the mixed up dosing. With those being recalled, birth control pills will work properly again once manufactured properly.

[color=dodgerblue]Anyone that is truly serious about pregnancy prevention should be using two methods of contraception because things happen. Pill recall, antibiotics, absentmindedness, stomach flu, the given failure rate... there are many factors that can affect the reliability. So a back up method is just common sense.

I have never trusted the pill as a stand alone. I know too many people that have pill babies.

I feel so bad hearing some of these comments , the birth control pill doesn't always work? lol

pill babies? oh my . You have to take a pill so you don't get pregnant , then have to wear extra protection for other things .

So many steps for you poor women! then you hear about articles like this where the chemicals

It said an investigation had found that some blister packs of the oral contraceptive might contain an inexact count of inert or active ingredients in the tablets.

lol , this is peoples health and well being ! you think there would be 100 verification checks to prevent silly mistakes like this !

would a man take a birth control pill ? hell no lol , but you women do! kudos to you !

Most men i don't think would pop in a birth control pill before sex , because they say i don't need chemicals up in my body , just for having sex !!

but then those same men have no problem popping in a viagra , for some jackrabbit "love" making...

so unfair for you ladies , but its appreciated !

Actually my fiancee has said if there was something for him to take he would.

I can't take the pill, so I insist on condoms. I was put on the pill years ago for cramps and endometriosis but all the ones I tried made me sick or gain weight and not just a few lbs, a lot. It wasn't healthy so I stopped taking it and found alternative methods to treat cramps and endometriosis. I didn't like feeling nauseous, bloated and fatigued every day. It was horrible. The week of my killer cramps was something i felt I'd rather learn to deal with than the daily side effects of tying to stop my killer monthly pain.

OP I was gonna post about this and then found your thread. I know many people who take the pill and figured there were woman here so it would be good to share on here, glad you posted it!

Good of you to post this warning.

My sister got pregnant on the pill. Regular dose. It's just not 100% and I agree two methods should be used.

Birth control pills recalled, may not prevent pregnancy...

They "may not" at any time.

Oh well, least ladies are getting fair warning. It will save a lot of tears if any one of them get's accused of getting knocked up on purpose.

[color=dodgerblue]As you can see from this chart, the pill already has the highest failure rate to begin with. These rates are not kept a secret... they are printed in the literature that comes with the pill. Which is why I would think that women would be a little more proactive in the quest for pregnancy prevention. The chances of two methods failing at the same time are pretty low.

I wonder how many lawsuits will come out of this.

Most of the failures come from people not taking them properly. They call them pill babies instead of "i forgot to take it two days in a row, babies"

Ha! I call his bluff ! lol , fiancee eh ? that usually means he has to be on best behavoir mode because you can still jump ship !

Its like saying to him "hunnie , does this make me look fat " , Before marriage , response " No hunnie , you look great , matter of fact i didn't even like that outfit when i first saw it in your closet but now you just brought the sexy back to it "

after marriage response "no" looool

I bet he would take the pill maybe once or twice , then be like screw this . We don't even like to shave ! you think were going to take a pill for birth control lol , condoms good enough :p

i wish you women didn't even have to take such a pill that changes hormones in your body , perhaps that explains the wild mood swings and emotional reactions hehe

blood clot's as a side effect ! lol that is a pretty dangerous side effect , all for the pleasure of sex without pregnancy .

This article is a warning that some pills where recalled. This thread isn't about whether the pill works or not (obviously it does)... it's about pills that where recalled....

Yes, and the majority of the responses are that they are not that effective anyways, use two methods of birth control.

Are you going to correct them?

i thought they worked also , but now i hear about pill babies and what not .

Who better to ask then the ladies if they ask lol , I had the impression it worked no if ands or butt's but clearly even the non-recalled ones have a percentage of failure, much higher then a condom lol .

Maybe if men had to take birth control it would be perfected lol , but just like the tampon that leaks , if men arent in it , or experencing it , then it will get a womens "patch fix" haha
