Read the early church fathers. Either the church was corrupt from the start or the protestants are just wrong.

Which specific early church fathers? Which books they wrote?

Early Church leaders like the pagan priest Eusebius who merely christianized his pagan religion rather than actually convert? Or Tertullian who taught "secret myseteries" of esoterics to the upper "elite" in the priesthood while the laity were treated like cattle and only to be an audience?

Yes, go read the junk Eusebius and Tertullian were saying, teaching "mysteries" and secrets behind closed doors when Jesus commanded the apostles to reveal secrets to everyone.

Who you going to believe, Peter and Paul or Eusebius and Tertullian?

Granted your "pope" has given himself the right to change scripture as he sees fit so that he can maintain control over his goyim masses.

Here's some interesting things your "popes" have done, not that you will believe it.

the pope says he is Christ

2 Cor 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

"2 Pet 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage."

"Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit."

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Whose word in John? Jesus' word not Astarte's word, not the "pope's" word, not Andrew Johnson' from Kalamazoo Michigan word. Only Jesus and in case you haven't noticed. There hasn't been a pope yet that looked like an Aramaen. Jesus wasn't white, he didn't have long brown fabulous hair and he didn't have blue eyes.

Peter tells you right here who the corrupters are. Who are those that escaped them who live in error? The protestant's, including the ones who were massacred by the Jesuits in the spanish inquisition, the Waldenses and the French Hugenaughts. Who escaped the R.C.C. and fled? Yeah, it wasn't the R.C.C. that did the fleeing.

You could read these. Or you could look up yourself on the internet what they believed. What they believed was closer to Catholicism.

Do you like Augustine? Why not figure out what he believed.

Here is some logic for you. Bear with me here.

The protestant claim that the early church was okay till the time the bible was compiled is strange. Simply because either the things you believe is corruption happened from the start, even before the bible was compiled, and that would leave the authenticity of the bible in question. You claim it happened slowly over time, but since the apostles started the church the fathers believed thing like eucharist, virgin mary's assumption, and purgatory, contradicting the claim it got corrupted over time. Even Paul writes about Christ's flesh and blood being truly present.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians: "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?" (1 Cor. 10:16). So when we receive Communion, we actually participate in the body and blood of Christ, not just eat symbols of them. Paul also said, "Therefore whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. . . . For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself" (1 Cor. 11:27, 29). "To answer for the body and blood" of someone meant to be guilty of a crime as serious as homicide. How could eating mere bread and wine "unworthily" be so serious? Paul’s comment makes sense only if the bread and wine became the real body and blood of Christ.

The pope is not Christ but vicar of Christ, just like how in a kingdom while the King is away a vicar is in charge.
