Yeah. It's strange. I have no idea what it was but i know it wasn't a meteor because i have never seen a meteor fly parrelell to the ground.

Good recommendation

but I would say the Perseids during August, are probably the best beginner shower, as they can be seen over many nights around the peak on the 12/13.

This year is likely to be a good one I think. Even so, observers should plan to be out for at least a few hours (all night is better!), over two or three nights for a real taste of what a meteor shower like the Perseids has to offer.

I'm sure there will be a thread over on the space exploration forum closer to the time, but if you want to plan ahead, plan your summer to be as far away from any city/town/village lights as you can during the peak and the run up to the peak if you can- it makes a huge difference when observing meteors.

I've been observing Perseids for well over a decade, and they really fail to disappoint, where as the Lyrids can be a bit more hit and miss.

Seems strange when you see it as I know all too well, but meteors can do this. I've seen them myself (many were identifiable members of meteor showers), and there is no doubt that they were meteors.

I explained it in this thread. You can see "earth-grazers" as they are called, if you look at the right times during an annual meteor shower, but they are few and far between unless you are lucky enough to be observing during a strong meteor shower. During showers like the Perseids, that would be as soon as it's getting dark.

I have seen orbs before. Twice in the same location. Both times about 10 metres in front of me maybe a metre off the ground. Yellow in colour about the size of a large side plate giving off a blue hue. They moved silently. On the second encounter I could feel a pressure on my left sinus and my left eye started weeping water. Some kind of pressure thing of something.

I have no idea of what they are. But I would say it has an intelligence. As it came round into my view it changed direction and went over the moor. The thing moved at a constant slow speed. These things are not metorites.

I looked on the net and could not find a picuture of anything like what I saw I checked ball lightning, plasma, saint elmos fire all that kind of thing..

Can I ask what kind of place you live in. The place I saw mine was very remote... Keep your eyes eyes pealed you might see more. I did..
