I am 22 but feel I am in a pool full of teenagers. Not the typical college kid mind you. I am starting up my own internet company. I am very mature for my age and rather intelligent and centrist. What I want to know is what is the age of the posters on here. Because it seems like I am always debating a bunch of kids!

Some people become very childish if they can't seem to get their point across. I'm 25 and know I'm guilty of the same thing once in awhile.

Age is only a number, my friend.

If I was a dog, I would be 161 yrs old.

Good luck with your new company.

I'm 17 in may, I've been pretty much lurking around here on ATS for a couple of months. Just decided to sign up actually.

Chronological age doesn't always sync up with mental age.

Having said that, I am 50 years old.

21 here. Age is not indicative of wisdom or intelligence. I've met older people who are completely immature, as well as younger people who are thoughtful and slow to anger.

I'm 27. Somehow.

19 years old here.

Not that it matters though. I've seen 10 year old's act incredibly mature and I've seen 40 year old's behave like absolute kids at times. As they say.. Age is nothing but a number.

Very modest aren't we!!

I don't think its very nice to basically diss all ATS members,

And blow your own horn in the same post.

I am 27, and I don't want to talk to you any more.

Bold added by me. I think that might be the root of your experience here. A debate holds specific goals for one side to win out on a topic and therefore make the other side lose.

What ATS is about is discussion, being able to enter a topic, get in over your head with info, and doggy paddle your way through it all until you can breathe again.

Don't debate, discuss, and simply dont give in to those who are baiting you into a win/lose debate.

Also be the change that you want to see. LEad by example and others will follow, those that dont will soon be banned or lose interest in ATS and move on to another forum where their childlike ways are accepted.

edit to add...32 years old

Snap, i'm 22 too.

Just like the others that posted, i've met children that are incredibly older than their years, and older people who are just plain moronic.

Guess it's all just to do with your upbringing, whether your parents give a damn about how your life will be enough to actually discipline you and show you how life is.

Life is short, therfore if you are between 20 and 30 and don't have a carreer, life will then pass you by in the blink of an eye!---------------------------------- Over 50

Age doesn't always make a person smarter, or more mature. Also, throughout my years, I've met people that seemed like they were just born old. Really old. Sad really.
I've also met people that were well into their 70s, and they seemed smart, naive, and argumentative, all at the same time!

I'm in my early 50s. Open minded ( to a point). Somewhat jaded and cynical too.
That said, I don't know what 50 is supposed to feel like, I feel the same as when I was in my 30s.

I'm only going to give you an indirect answer.
My signature tells you I'm old enough to remember Tony Hancock ("the lad himself").
