Do you think this has accurately described the United States since 1750 when the statement was given? Accurate? No? Discuss.
ABSOLUTELY INDEED.
And I think that
NOTurTypical's post:
This cycle is driven by human nature. As Richard Kelly Hoskins said, "History does not change because the human heart does not change." The cycle
can only be broken by total obedience to God's Law.
is a great explanation.
I have long felt that any church that was older than about a year and a half was well on the way to being DEAD, DRY HUSK PSEUDO-CHRISTIANITY or even
cultish or outright apostate.
We have to TAKE UP OUR CROSS and DIE TO SELF
DAILY--and truly . . . not just in some white-washed pretend way.
That RELATIONSHIP business is what Christ died for and what The Father is serious about.
And without that intimate DANCE with HIM . . . it goes to blazes alarmingly quickly.
We CANNOT pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.
I think that's one of the great lessons America was designed of God to be to all Creation--that even the greatest form of Government in history turns
evil when the citizens of the country foresake an intimate dance, relationship, walk, with God . . . submitted wholly in obedience, contrition,
brokenness, humility TO HIM . . . in all their priorities and affairs.
ONLY THEN
Does He grant HIS ABUNDANT LIFE; FREEDOM, FULFILLMENT, PROVISION, SAFETY, AND JOY BEYOND MEASURE.
