First the home phone, now this.

My 19 year old has convinced us to switch to Sprint, because they have unlimited 3G data.

And then, he rooted my Galaxy S phone and installed a third party hotspot program.

I have been running the computer off the phone connection and it is not bad. It runs at about 500k, which is not as fast as RoadRunner (15 M) but ok for what I do.

I am seriously considering disconnecting the cable to save the money it costs right now $40 per month, but after a year it doubles to $80 a month.

I don't see any down side to this.

What your son did was smart if your a light user, kudos to you for trying it. Sprint will have LTE this year. I can tell you from having Verizon you should get 5mb down which is handy in a pinch, but the battery life is a #
