Happiness comes from happenings - the very words means what you are when something is happening - but this means when nothing is happening, your not happy!

Why seek to be happy when nothing is always happening - isnt it far better to seek joy that never leaves? joy is there in a jail cell or in a rain open range forest - it is there when nothing is happining when there is no noise and no people around to amuse you - when the TV is off and the music has stopped - - - If you dont like being alone its cause you are in bad company - You can change that and you must before you call your self Awake!

happiness is a distraction from finding joy - inside where it was lost not out side where there is little joy to be seen - singing a song and dancing a derge is fine but the song has to end and so doth the dance - are you then sad because things are not constant play and folly - this is worship of idols to worship happiness

Happiness is a distraction from inner peace and healing - it is a stumbling block to self gnosis - it is a opiate for the mass's just as hope is - hope is futuristic utopia never in the moment is there hope -

Stop doing and seeking because this is desire and desire is suffering - i mean if you want to be awake - buddha means awake its not knowing politics or religions secrets or knowing how to hold signs and yell at cars with a bull horn for social change...

Happiness demands entertainment - true enlightenment comes from the silence, being alone and gaining total self control over your body, your lower self shall be conquerd or entertained never both when on that pathles path - Seek self control and self knowledge not entrainment and programs - the goal is not to learn but to unlearn lies and tell the honesty tale of truth minus all lies-

happiness is an addition to man - until you can learn to be joyus in a dark hole you avoide the whole - but how can you go to heaven and tell of hell if you have never been there? How can you save the world with out having a noble solution of your own - the only testimony you will have is happiness that will be the way you measure your life and others based on the happiness you atained - one who is on the road to happy and happenings is is not awake nor are they awakening, I dont care what year it is and what people say about waiting for a date in time to have awakning happen for you - - - Awakening requires your full attention and volition

When you know your self = happenings, and nothing happening, are the same - besides most innertainment is dramatic staged acts - its not a real burst of joy-
close your eyes and look around to find your joy -

I fully agree that that the joy is within knowing, and knowing is within silence. In silence there is peace and harmony, but to find that you must SEEK. This was the only amendment I wanted to make because you must seek to find your joy. Because we all see idols, but God is hidden.

I agree, joy cannot come from the outside in bu must come from within and spread out around you as positive energy. We feed our own thoughts and emotions with our phsyche, acceptance is the first step to take control of your life and decide to live in joy ( which is very offen a quite painful process but makes the outcome of joy that much greater.

As we wake up in the morning let's not let the news decide how to feel inside about your surroundings but let our true feelings of Love affect the people arond us.

I don't really agree. There are things that people don't like in life that they still WILL go through whether they like it or not - and because of this they become sad.

Being happy helps people get through life, because even if you aren't happy you are still going through it so why not enjoy it.

Agreed. I have found there is a definite process to enlightenment.

Happiness is a hindrance to seeking the Truth.

The act of searching for the Truth is maddening!

When Truth is found it becomes a destroyer of the Ego.

Denial, Grief, Anger, Detachment, Acceptance then....

Realizations, Grace, Beauty, Silence, Peace and Freedom

Then if you are lucky....you end up with a childlike simplistic, humorous view of the world. The Divine Comedy!

Happiness can also be found in the depths of the abyss, it is the state of being happy, regardless of external or internal factors. The need to understand the realization of the cause of happiness is important to find what you are searching for. Happiness is a general word for numerous emotions such as love, gratitude, compassion. You must realize that it is the emotions that stimulate your happiness and your mind coupled with desire is causing this stimulation. Realize that and you will understand.

Desire is a part of the path to be enlighten, without it, we will be stranded in an everlasting cycle or worst, not moving forward. Desire moves our awareness into action may it be physical, emotional mentally or spiritually. When desire is use in physical we attain materialistic possessions, emotional we find happiness, mentally we gain wisdom and spiritually we reach buddhahood.

Dali lama once said, desire is an instrumental part of enlightenment, you will not attain Buddhahood if you don't desire it.

It is the desire for the wrong things that you must let go.
