After previously calling third-party ads attacking Kerry's service "inappropriate" and subsequently calling on Bush to condemn the negative third-party ads against Kerry (which he did), the Democratic Party itself released this ad today, attacking Bush's service:

www.democrats.org...

Kerry only called on an end to the negative ads because he was getting hurt worse than Bush was. I think this is very hypocritical on the Democrats' part...

A 2 minute and 47 second video of the Lt. Gov Barnes interview and clips of Bush denying he got preferential treatment.

I don't think it's an "ad" you'll have to suffer being on the air, or being reshown and discussed in the news day in and out like any lil' bit of bile a Republican comes up with.

Unless you of course you'd like to make it news.

I'd support that.

The latest episode of what you might call historical revisionism came last week. President Bush has said, now, almost two years after he voted for the war in Iraq, about 220 days after switching positions to declare himself the anti-war candidate, my opponent has found a new nuance.

The problem is that John Kerrys position actually hasnt changed. And 220 days ago, on Hardball, he did not declare himself the anti-war candidate.

Below is the FULL exchange between Chris Matthews and John Kerry:

MATTHEWS: Do you think you belong in that category of candidates who more or less are unhappy with this war? The way its been fought? Along with General Clark, along with Howard Dean, and not necessarily in companionship politically on the issue of the war with people like Lieberman, Edwards and Gephardt? Are you one of the anti-war candidates?

KERRY: I am. Yes. In the sense that I dont believe the president took to us war as he should have, yes. Absolutely. Do I think this president violated his promises to America? Yes, I do, Chris. Was there a way to hold Saddam Hussein accountable? You bet there was and we should have done it right.

This is what the RNC-related web video used:

MATTHEWS: Are you one of the anti-war candidates?

KERRY: I am. Yes.
MSNBC

One reporter cited the swift boat ads and asked, "When you say that you want to stop all --" "All of them," Bush responded. "That means that ad, every other ad. Absolutely. I don't think we ought to have 527s."

Those who live... in, uh, houses of glass, shouldn't, erm, take the rocks, and then... then throw them. 9/11!

EDIT: You know that Democratic ad isn't a 527, which Bush denounced, and produces on his own site, right? So when you say Bush has "condemned the negative third-party ads" that's not really true, is it? If you think the Democratic ad is a 527, what the heck is on the homepage of the GOP? I'm just asking in case I'm wrong.

Classic.

I saw that Chris Matthews expose of the festering hypocrisy of Republicans on this. It was almost like real news.

Yup, Ben Barnes is VERY reliable...yup yup yup...says he pulled strings to get GWB into the Texas guard when he was Lt. Gov of Texas,....

Trouble is, George W. Bush began the first of six years service in the National Guard in 1968, but Barnes did not become Lt. Governor of Texas until 1969.

frontpagemag.com...

Hmmm...that's interesting, now isn't it??? Also, the "Kerry-ing" he did on the matter on at least four different occasions, when he gave four different accounts..."yes I did...no I didn't ...yes I did...no I didn't ..."

I'll bet he had one of those $15,000 typewriters on his desk when he was Lt. Gov as well, eh????

The commercial will be pulled because it uses material that is the property of NBC. They are pitching a fit that their copyrighted material is being used for "partisan politics"...

I think it's funny that Barnes own daughter is calling her dad a liar. She said her dad was promised a place in the administration if he took down Bush with allagations that were proved false in 1998. nice try dems, move along, nothing to see here.

Let me clear something up for you real quick, bud.

It's in the nature of a politician to lie, hide the truth, and change his opinions.

Furthermore, it is in the nature of the thinking man to grow in his perceptions, and maybe change his point of view.

But, it's the very rare unimitigated ass that picks the same wrong argument and sticks to it for life.

Let me clear something up for YOU real quick, bud.

It is NOT the nature of ALL politicians to lie, just the unscrupulous ones. Not all politicians are bad. Some actually have the public's best interests at heart. They just don't get the press because it's BAD news that sells, not good.

There is no problem with changing your point of view. But it is actually the unmitigated (I expect you had an expletive here...assume the same) that takes BOTH sides of the SAME argument AT THE SAME TIME!

It also takes a man of courage to stick to his convictions when the unmitigated (expletive deleted!) are taking both sides of every issue...

Was GW from a rich politically connected family who had a sitting Washintonian as a Father?

Were his scores to get into flight school lower that 75% of the people in front of him?

Did he take time off from service to run a campaign?

You swallow the above elephants while choking on flies!

FACE IT: he was a fortunate son, he got preferential treatment! Who wouldn't pull those same strings for their own son in a similar circumstance? I think this Flight Suit Prances on Deck fascade was the wrong move: Team Bush should just own up to it; again, what parent wouldn't do the same for their kid?

Unfortunately, BT, this is simply your opinion, as the so called "proof" has proven to be another fraud brought to you by your friendly neighborhood party of hate, the Democrats....I'm just waiting to see what bumbling comedy of errors they come up with next!

it's Bout Time for Kerry to stand up and tell the truth. Why did he meet with the Vietcong in Paris while supposedly still in the Naval Reserve? Why did Kerry wait until 1978 to get an honorable discharge. Why did Kerry and his cousin make millions on the backs of missing POWs/MIAs. Why does Kerry hate the military, Why does Kerry want a government sponsored socialist medical system. Why does Kerry not talk about his time in the Senate. Why does Kerry not talk about his being an Internationalist who perfers the worlds opinion over that of Americans.

It's the fortunate son question again - admit to it this time , K?

Bush Clan: Rich, well established in the hoi-paloi of the state power structure

Bush's test scores: These are on record and have been released; he scored in the 75th percentile.

Bush daddy: A sitting Congressman

Air National Guard, circa Vietnam Era: Champagne Division - by all accounts of folks I spoke to who were in the Guard at that time, it was no where near the fighting force capabilities of the Guard deployed today. All sai it was less than hardcore, much less.

Time off the end - who, during full deployment war time, gets to go work on a campaign!?!

The question is: Was he a fortunate Son!!!??? What the hell do you think needs to be documented above & beyond the above for you to believe it!?!

"Denial", not just a river in Egypt anyomore!

It's Bout Time Bush stands up & says D'Oh!!

Hate to tell you, BT, but since you have never served your country and have no clue about how things are scored in the military, let me clear something up for you. 75th percentile means he graduated in the TOP third of his class, not the bottom.

I was 97th percentile in my grad class. Do you think that means I was on the bottom rung? Nope. I was top grad.

But you knew that, didn't you. You're just putting your normal bulls**t spin on things. you're about as good at telling the truth as John Kerry!
