I deny that Genesis 1 has the word, universe, in it.

Ahhh yes, so because Genesis 1 doesn't include the English term "universe" in it, we can pretend that's not the implication of the chapter? God created space, time, the planets, the stars, and all that there is in 6 days.

That's a modern interpretation,
made by people in the habit of
changing other people's ideas
to fit their own paradigm.

It does not have what would be the
equivalent of, universe, in Hebrew, either.

Actually, you're quite wrong. In Genesis 1:1 the Hebrew word used for "heaven" is shamayim. Which means:

1) heaven, heavens, sky

a) visible heavens, sky

1) as abode of the stars

2) as the visible universe, the sky, atmosphere, etc

b) Heaven (as the abode of God)

Blue Letter Bible

So right in Genesis 1:1 it says God created the Earth and everything else in the universe. That's what "heaven" means in Genesis 1:1. The "visible universe, the sky, the atmosphere, etc..".

6 days is a human term, God is not human.

If we are to answer the question of this post in human terms we are to understand the emotional body and personality of a human being.

Have you ever been hated by someone you love?

Have you ever been hated by someone you love for something someone else has done?

The reason why the devil is powerful is because he is able to hate you.

In Genesis 1:1 the Hebrew word used for "heaven" is shamayim.

The part you highlighted from the different definitions is:

2) as the visible universe, the sky, atmosphere, etc
which is what I was talking about, notice the word in the definition, visible, that would mean things like the sun and the moon and the stars, which they thought could have been torches for all they knew, floating around, a ways above the earth, inside this shell which held in the atmosphere.

The word I had learned to mean, universe, is one used in Jewish blessings, where a typical one would start out:

Ba-ruch’ A-tah’, Adonai E-lo-hei’-nu, Me’-lech ha-o-lam’,
blessed (are) You, Adonai G-d our, King (of) the universe,

That's what the nice people at the LHC are trying to figure out

Can't wait to find out if they managed to recreate conditions when the universe started and answer it once and for all.

You realise there will be those that state. The mechanism is not the "spark" God created the "spark".

There will be others that simply call it a trick of Satan to turn your face from the lord.

Facts are rarely allowed to get in the way of belief/faith.

Very aware but I generally ignore those types and prefer cold, hard scientific facts because unless a giant bearded man in a robe came down from the sky and showed us proof that God existed then everything around us is all nature and science doing its thing and not the art class project of a deity.

JM, who else can create a universe besides God?

Not someone who is putting in any personal appearances.
There is no currently existing person who created the universe.
Whatever thoughts or plans that existed in the pre-universe void, were expended in its making and that intention incorporated into its nature.
God is the Divine Judge who is the creator and master of spiritual things, meaning concepts placed into action which are the government of all the living beings in the universe.
In Exodus 20:11 it says that The Lord fashioned the heavens and the earth, using a different word than used in Genesis 1:1 (bara'). The fourth commandment uses, `asah, which can mean to put things to use, or to arrange things, or just a set of actions.
The important thing to know about God is what we have today in religion which is the fact that is at its core, that God has the ability to reach beyond the grave and to snatch us up and then to do with us as he sees fit.

In the early forth century, under the coercion of Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, John Philoponus wrote a lengthy theses on The Creation, where among other things, he said:

Further, he mentions the firmament and points out that it, too, was called heaven, since it makes all sight possible, having all the lights of heaven put into it by God. Also the air is called heaven. It is transparent, colourless and invisible by itself and is therefore able to convey light and colours down to the earth.*
So, even as late as this, people thought the sun and moon were lights high in the sky and contained in a watery substance that came from the earth's ocean.

* I am quoting from what looks to be a master's theses by Birgitta Elweskjold, "John Philoponus against Cosmas Indicopleustes", page 29, where she is explaining what John says in his book, seeing how there is not an English translation of the Greek text to be quoted.
