Shipwreck hunters stumble across mysterious find- UFO?

edition.cnn.com

(CNN) -- Deep down on the bottom of the Baltic Sea, Swedish treasure hunters think they have made the find of a lifetime.

The problem is, they're not exactly sure what it is they've uncovered.

"I have been doing this for nearly 20 years so I have a seen a few objects on the bottom, but nothing like this," said Lindberg.

How very cool.

Using side-scan sonar, the team found a 60-meter diameter cylinder-shaped object, with a rigid tail 400 meters long.

The imaging technique involves pulling a sonar "towfish" -- that essentially looks sideways underwater - behind a boat, where it creates sound echoes to map the sea floor below.

On another pass over the object, the sonar showed a second disc-like shape 200 meters away.

A second disc? So now we have a fleet of ufo's?

Oh boy, can't wait to see where THIS goes!

Chances are, it is probably just a rotting vessel of some kind that has been beaten up and tattered by the ocean, thus separating some pieces of it.

But what a great mystery.

I searched ATS for the EXACT title, and it did not show up.

One special thing about the Baltic Sea is that it is so cold that nothing rots. the Swedes pulled up the "Vasa," a warship from the 15th century that capasized in the harbor at Stiockholm (It was top heavy because the King wanted an extra deck of canons.) and the thing was darn near intact. It's nor a museum. Any warmer water and the thing would have been eaten by now. So this new find has great potential for being more or less intact.

Yeah, I have been seeing this pop up a lot lately. Every 9 hours or so there is a new topic on ATS about it. This however is an update.

I think there is something going on here.

Here's the thing about search function...

Some days when I get on ATS and I am not in any mood to study or read something in particular, I click on "recent posts" and keep clicking on it till something interesting comes up.

Even on my off days I don't all of a sudden wake and and say "Oh man today I wonder what happened in the Baltic Sea!" and go straight to search.

I mean yes, search is a great option for certain things, but some days I would just rather hit the refresh button.
And yes, sometimes things get posted over and over again, this is a conspiracy within itself which I just made up and don't want to get into. # just happens.
