Better check your facts...even though the US government has changed the calculation of the unemployment statistics (not counting anyone who has run out of unemployment benefits) the number is still at 8.5% and if the old calculation was used it would be around 11%

Like bush won the election against Gore? Sadly I think people need to look more in RP's policy, since he'd like to repeal the civil rights act, Something many american's would have a problem with.

Americans are ignorant to the origin of disparity between the poor and the wealthy. The disparity is primarily government driven........primarily Obama and both party driven.........yet Mr. Obama has the audacity to point his finger away from himself and point it in the direction of the Republicans. It is hypocrisy at its finest and he knows what his policies. do.

Let's examine policy:

-The number one contributor to disparity between the poor and the rich is the forced inflation and devaluation of the dollar by the Federal Reserve and Obama administration (yes, the Repubs are also at fault for the bailouts). So what does printing money and handing out bailouts do to the poor and middle class?

(1) It results in a dollar of less value and therefore, a salary that isn't worth as much as it once was. In other words it is a direct pay cut to the poor and middle class workers.

(2) It increases the price of food and gas. The poor and middle class have budgets that are mostly made up of the necessities like food, housing, and utilities. This increase in cost and lowering of the value of wages hurts those that don't have the leeway to absorb those problems.

(3) Money that is funneled away from the poor and middle class is then directed to bonds and stocks. This props up corporations and banks. This is the most obvious form of wealth transfer from the poor to the wealthy in American history and Obama is parroting that it is the Republicans who hate the poor and love the middle class. I could say a few expletives towards Mr. Obama and be spot on in my assessment of is ponzi-shceme and lies.

Don't worry if you've bought into the Obama class warfare. 95%+ of Americans do not understand the monetary system and the gross inequality and lies that are spread. You would be considered normal not to understand because it takes several paragraphs longer to explain than saying, "Republicans hate the poor because they won't raise taxes for the rich." This is why a ponzi-scheme like this can continue.......because Americans literally do not have the patience to understand the basic principles above.

Now, I'm not arguing for a vote for Republicans in any way whatsoever. They apparently desire WWIII and are complicit in the same ponzi-scheme hatched out above. However, I am advocating that a vote for Obama is a message of acceptance of the most grotesque system of central banking ever concocted. Our children's children will be slaves to debt and our fiscal irresponsibility. Even if you don't feel as though you are supporting such a system when you vote for Obama, the truth is that casting that vote will do something to you subconsciously and will turn you away from the evils of the administration towards the supposed good. I'm sorry but the evils far outweigh the good and they should never lose their foothold in your mind.

As corrupt as I am convinced the Government, Political System and Electoral Process is, I am no longer willing to vote for the lesser of 2 or 3 or 5 evils; I am just as certain and determined about this as I am that there is no material difference between Obama, Bush Jr., Clinton and Bush Sr or Romney, Gingrich or Santorum beyond window dressing and rhetoric; that they all serve and have served the same Puppet Masters represented by Organizations like the CFR, I am not willing to stand mute and simply go with the flow. Right or Wrong, a wasted vote or not, I am supporting my convictions and voting my conscience regardless of the out come by Supporting and Voting for RON PAUL and will, regardless of who our next President is, will continue to support in every way possible our Constitution, Bill of Rights and all those who are of like mind..COME WHAT MAY!

Just to comment on something earlier in the thread. The idea that 'voting only encourages them' is self-defeating and a self-fulfilling prophecy. You can't get what you want by snapping your fingers, or indeed by chatting on the internet. Democratic procedures take time to work, little by little. It's because people don't vote often enough that the established systems are failing to reflect opinion. Not voting but not doing anything else to be involved in the government of your country may give you the delicious burn of passive-aggressive martyrdom, but you've got no one else to blame but yourself for how bad things are. I will always vote, even though the choices available are mediocre, because you'll never know how much you'll miss that right until it actually vanishes. The best way to ensure the democracy you crave appears is to keep feeding it in any way you can, including putting a cross in a box every four years.

I don't think Obama is going to have a problem winning his "Home State" of Illinois. Unlike Algore who lost the 2000 election to Bush because he couldn't win his home state of Tennessee.

To the OP....

I don't care who the Republican nominee ends up being. 4 more years of Obama blaming Bush, and taking vacations must come to an end.

I hope you stick around for the discussions here after Obama orders the invasion of Iran for Israel. His true colors are about to be on full display.

Israel, Israel, Israel. The USA is quite capable of having a go at Iran for its own historical reasons without doing favours to that administration.

Oh so because "Ron Paul can't win" (I guess the mainstream media got to you there), you're gonna go along with a broken parasitic system and vote for someone who has already proven to be a huge liar? Well, have fun with that..

Just to add to this.. The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

You need the poor. Without them you wouldn't know if you were rich! The bailout was probably necessary when the economy started to collapse just before Obama took over. Like Bush said "Why did it have to happen on my shift". Our government knew of the possibility as also did the Federal Reserve under Greenspan. I have a lot of respect for Bush's and Greenspans admittance of the problem that occured under their control. We shouldn't have been stimulating the Economy when it didn't need to be before the collapse. All that Pork barrel spending bit us in the butt. An economy that grows slowly and steadily is better than what this lesson we learned. Some of the things Republicans fight for are good also. Businesses are necessary for our Economy but the huge middleman system in our country isn't. We need more real jobs producing things we really need. Building things that last and keeping things from going out of style is good for our Economy also. You don't need to buy a 24 volt drill when you're 12 volt one twists the head off the screw and the good battery lasts just as long. I like using simple examples based on what I know well. Don't replace a good highway just to create jobs, build a small factory instead. Buy American, not chinese with a Made in America tag put on in America. Not many people know that by adding one part shipped seperate a product can wear the Made in America logo. That's America, land of Deceit.

But, overall, do you feel Obama would be the best president, even with Paul in the picture?

Personally, I believe the country will enter a deep depression, food lines, and riots before the end of a second Obama term, and I voted FOR Obama the first time around, but he has done exactly the opposite of the things I heard during his campaign, and he has driven the country into seriously dangerous territory economically, and too many people are reliant on government checks, when the government is reaching its credit limit every 3 to 6 months and accelerating!! If you look at a graph of the government debt, it is a clearly exponential line, and we are now on the vertical portion lf the line that extends to infinity. There is no hope of the status quo lasting another 4 years. Even 1 more year is looking less and less likely. What will the people do when the government checks don't show up, or nobody will cash them?

In terms of war, not sure. Paul wants to bring ALL troops home....Obama is currently bringing many of our brave soldiers home. I have a friend in the military...he tells me they all hate Obama and call him a socialist trying to destroy the USA....and whenever he goes into his work (military of course) Fox News is always on television.

As for the second part I quoted...I'm tired of doom and gloom....and I've taken part in it in the past.

At least as long as I've been posting here...that's all it's been.

We need to stop being so negative....we need to stop attacking ourselves constantly....because we are all in this together.

Let me ask you this...

When a family member is down on his luck without his own fault.....do you help them? I know I do.

Ultimately, this country is family. We need to take care of each other.....not turn our heads for those who need help.....but that is the mentality we have. There was a time it wasn't that way. We need to find that again.

And to end this....you are certainly one of the better people on ATS. Not once have you ever been nasty with me....i do appreciate it.

but I do have to ask you...

If a GOP was Prez right now....would any troops have came home...any at all? Everytime I watch a debate they are talking about screwing with another country...especially Santorum...WOW.

That man is flat out SCARY. I'm tired of war....I think most of us are...and that's why i understand why so many gravitate to Ron Paul.

You realize Obama wanted to stay in Iraq right and the US was kicked out. Seems you like giving Obama credit he doesn't deserve. Hard to blame you since that's the narrative the President has been presenting. It's too bad like Newt/Mitt/Santorum he's completely full of #.

Have any of RP's supporters stopped to consider the fact that he's the oldest presidential candidate? What happens if he passes after he's elected?

I think that RP *knows* that he doesn't stand a chance and yet, is doing this to prove a point about our broken system.

It's 4 years, granted 4 very hard years just look at Obama's hair, but RP is in great physical shape, he is a doctor, and he's been in Washington DC for decades, so with that I'm not worried. That said, I trust in RP to pick a VP who America can trust. Rand Paul for VP!
, can his son be VP or is that against the rules?

It doesn't matter who gets in. The puppet master & the agenda remain the same. Mass enslavement, & mass murder of those who will not comply. They can change the player, but will never change the game.

for this election (assuming ron paul doesn't get the nomination), i will choose the ONLY option that wasn't chosen for me.

i will not vote. the whole system is rigged, and we are forced to settle for a selection of candidates picked FOR us, not BY us. i say no.

voting lets them know you sanction this debauchery of a government. it lets them know you still think you have a choice.

I SAY NO!

You must still believe the media to think Ron Paul doesn't have a chance.

People need to wake up to that fact and vote for him if they want to see real change for the better.
