That is a BRILLIANT move from Iran.

Iran Turns Embargo Tables: To Pass Law Halting All Crude Exports To Europe

In what is likely a long overdue move, Iran has finally decided to give Europe a harsh lesson in game theory. Instead of letting Euro-area politicians score brownie points at its expense by threatening to halt imports and cut off the Iranian economy, the Iranian government will instead propose a bill calling for an immediate halt to oil deliveries to Europe.

Win for Iran... total loss for Europe.
- Oil is going higher : Win for Iran
- Europe ain't cutting their oil on their terms : Win For Iran
- Europe look like fools : Win for Iran

Epic. Iran invented chess and it shows!

Now let's see Brent oil going to $125-$150 a barrel... 3 euros a liter, yes we can!

Update : Vote on Sunday.

Let Europe freeze in the winter, we will see how the people of Europe respond to their politicians. I guess the sanctions are not working lol, the Iranian-Pakistani oil pipeline is under construction, and Indian-Iran oil dealings are being dealt in gold. Classic

Have to admit, for Europe to announce such sanction, before winter is over, was the stupidest thing ever.

That was a move that no one should have even needed to think about, how did they expect Iran to respond?
I wonder whose idea it was, for Europe to make such a decision?

The CRITICAL TRUTH and ISSUES is:-

1. Who is gonna buy up the People's resources, that will only go to waste and lost opportunities now?

What had it been for? Is this suffering to the Iranian People caused by the persian infidel Ayatollah leader's personal belligerance, vanity and vainglorius ambitions to dominate the arab world worth it?

What had the despicable Ayatollah actually won?

All these sufferings for the iranian masses is so...utterly...unnecessary...if that bast*rd would just come clean with its nuke erichment at dirty weapons grade 20% they admitted insted of the mere 3.5% needed for supposed 'nuke energy'.

I expect to see and read even more anti-Iran news and a greater call for unity "to face the greatest evil known to man" by certain nations. I also expect greater "aid" be given to NATO nations. March (mars = war) is coming soon and we all know that month is an obsession to TPTB.

Yep time to "liberate" them from the evil monster religious nut job that eats children for breakfast and wants Israel to be an empty lot. But instead of 1.5 million liberations (Iraq), lets try 3 times that and liberate them civilians into heaven

Good for Europe! We have a lot of intelligent / creative people in here , we just need a motivation to invest in alternatives and this crisis could end up being the right motivation! So, great time to start a business in super-insulating existing houses? Uh, what about desperate Eu leaders investing in finding alternative energy we keep on experimenting for decades but never get money for proper research? GO Europe!

It's beautifully ironic, but I just lost a lot of respect for Iran for putting up with all this crap with dignity. Such a childish move.

Or we could just believe them when they say it's for medical research/purposes...as other experts have agreed...and not make much ado about nothing all the while we reserve the right for ourselves to do whatever we want with DU ammunition, nuclear arms themselves, and so forth?

Why does everyone view IRAN as an aggressor here? I call it very much a case of pot, meet kettle! given both countries' respect history over the last few decades...if you can even call Iran a pot or a kettle given the extreme imbalance in this equation...

I posted this exact thing yesterday that Iran should shut the valves.
Stop the flow on their own terms. Iran has Sanctioned the EU.
Now , watch China step up to accept the flow.

The Irony is that EU and the US can sanction Iran, but when Iran sanctions the EU it is suddenly something different, something mean and vicious and illegal.

Why do we see Iran closing the straight as something evil ,when we have practically cut Iran from the entire world. With nothing but a hunch that they might be building a bomb?

Closing the Straite is a blockade. It isnt more illigal than EU/US cutting of Iran from everything.

If this is a "win" for them, it's a hollow victory. Iran will be selling a LOT less oil this year.

Well The US exported about $100b in goods to China in 2011... and China also owns 1+ trillion in US treasuries and buys US debt. If the US starts screwing with China, China might just say ``to hell with it we are dumping all of our treasuries right now``, crashing the US dollar instantly.

So no, the US won't do squat.

That would be escalating this problem to another part of the world, China.
As a American facing the prospect of higher fuel prices, do you then want higher goods, food prices.
It would be Political suicide.

Well its not that easy. You have to build the different manufacturing facilities, that = cost.

You have to find Americans who is willingly to work for a few cents an hour, to be able to compete with the eastern vagues. So that your product can be sold to a competing price on the market.

Probably have to educate the Americans to so that they can operate the machines. That = cost.

There is a reason the east get to build things and we get to buy them.

You mean Great Britain don't you. And the north sea oil reserves will not fuel this nation without imports as there is nowhere near enough of it.

Anyway, there are plenty of countries who export oil, Iran is just one of them. Saudi, the biggest oil reserve holder in the world has already agreed to take up the slack so I don't see what the problem is anyway.
