Mentioning no names or cases, current or otherwise, here are the top 4 ways dictators or democratically appointed [hahahaha] leaders can discredit whistleblowers or political irritants.

1," Suicide".

2, Sex crime […1984!]

3, Mental Health issues.

4, Rake up past [minor] crimes.

[With send them on holiday until the story blows over, a close 5th].

And all these methods fail to address the issue involved.

Forming close knit support groups who collectively agree to then blow the whistle on the chosen method of suppression is a wise move. I'm aware of a group of ex military here who have agreed if anything dodgy turns up on one of their computers or if one of them suddenly suffers a heart attack the others will go public on exactly why this was done to them.

And that only goes to show you who you are dealing with.

It doesn't really matter what the fat Texan says. He provides a useful soapbox. If you get the chance, use it. All's fair in love and war. Use everything to your advantage.

Like the saying "even a broken clock is right twice a day"

He has to have some truth in his lunatic fringe ramblings to keep listeners.
He does that to keep/gain new listeners to support his agenda (which includes buying dvd's, his for profit)

He should be addressing the real issues of the big picture, not skimming the top of the surface.
His fear mongering is what bothers me the most. He needs to adress vatican/knights of Malta/Zionist agendas.
(which he will NEVER discuss, or even let his fellow listeners/callers mention it)

Trimming the top of the weed will not kill it. If you want to kill it you have to remove the roots.
(not skimming the surface to get listeners attention & their $)

1," Suicide".

yes! cause a tragedy then suicide the target. People never think to know the victim's mindset before the veiled murder. Genius!

2, Sex crime […1984!]
complete with fake evidence and paid shills lying under oath.
3, Mental Health issues.
pcp, meth, heroine, mercury, lead. A skeleton key/lock pick and a paid psychopath willing to slowly poison someone until they lose their mind.

4, Rake up past [minor] crimes.

Or just make it up.Plant some "evidence". Kangaroo courts. Then bribe/threaten police and elected officials to go along with the fraud. Time this all to come out when the victim is least favorable with the public

What about quoting out of context to make the victim seem racist (like they did to ron paul) and planting obedient very covert moles in thier circle of friends to surveill and sabotage their lives?

Associate them with a racist group?

Associate them with a terrorist group?

Try to construe that they hate/abuse women or children.

Say that the victim is homosexual or hates gays.(gets bashed either way)

what about a proxy scandal from a paid mole that is close to the target?

The ol' fabricated pedophilia rumors trick.

There are so many ways to smear people/groups. Its way too easy.

The problem with whistleblowers is that they are normally "in on it" to begin with. Either complacent or ignorant to whats going on...

The reasons they whistleblow though, is because they personally feel wronged in some way.

Think about it, morally or legally objectionable things happen everyday, if you don't see it, you are blinding yourself for a reason. If you do see, you are like the other countless millions that go on about your business and worry about your life and what affects you.

How many whistleblowers are just mad they didn't get a bigger piece of the pie? Lots...

Whistleblowers are often in a unique position. In one case hundreds of people knew what had been covered up. They all had a financial interest in the project. There was also a massive national pride element. One individual had been given access to the information but didn't understand the significance. When he learnt the significance he informed the appropriate government official. The official was apparently instructed to fob off the whistleblower. The whistleblower went public and a charade was set in motion to give an excuse for the installation to be inspected. 150 lives are still at risk and the potential for an ecological disaster still exists. Massive sums of money are involved. The whistleblower has been told "Your reward will be a bullet in the head".

The whistleblower was motivated by the desire to safeguard the lives of the workers and the environment around the installation. Many of those who kept their mouths shut for the money are notoriously heavy drinkers. What kind of life is that when you don't even want to be conscious?

I don't envy those who choose to live in a hellworld in exchange for fiat currency and a pat on the head.

Sometimes a whistleblower has to do what a whistleblower has to do.
