This site is full of bright minds. If it goes down, I'm certain someone will find a way to reestablish it. Despite the fluff and astroturf, there is a lot of excellent Journalism going here. It would be a shame to lose it.

There a just so many possible ways to maintain free lines of communication that it seems silly to even bother with a monster board like ATS. Why provoke the dragon. Why force vigilant and educated citizens into the street, when they are far less harmfull here.

Here's a thought. Abandon the net. The entire content here can't be more than a few terrabites. Update data on a pre established base boards on any predetermined broadcast frequency. It wouldn't be instantaneous, but it would be a functional network. You can get a lot of range and data in the 800mhz band, with low power.

Read your concern over this issue, calling your congressman now, is a little too late , why, because this is the making of people who feel, we as consumers of products, and services, who like hanging out at mall's and pubs, would read the writing on the walls, and not support them around election time, its about protecting your benefits, and peace of mind, but now its insider trading from Congressman, states telling state workers after years of knowing that the future funds for their retirements might not be there, The No real Jobs created, and all HE cares about is that magic # 270 to get re-elected, this is a take to your friends and family, issue, voting from your heart is one thing, but when people's wallets end-up making the choise on who to vote for, well can you guess on the out come. Peace

I agree with you but believe the op is parting from a false premise. The govt will censor what they dont want free thinkers to see/hear/experience. With the amount of ads, disinfo, xenophobia, fox news type propaganda and downright shillery concentrated on this and other conspiracy theory forums, there would be no point censoring ats. I do agree with you though.
