Was wondering why this did not make the final cut of the film. Could it be that it made them look guilty?

Its the West Memphis 3...

A HUGE case here around Memphis/WM about a two decades ago.

Way too many details to give without you doing your own research...

A whole sub-forum could be dedicated to that case...

If anything, it makes the prosecution look like they are manufacturing evidence.

The title clearly says WM3, if you don't know what that is that is on you. Does every single Roswell thread go into detail about the entire event? No. Does every single thread about the illuminati and NWo go into detail about what those are? No.
